Fruit Ninja - Cross Platform I guess

I wanted to play Fruit Ninja on wifi against my partner. I only have the iPhone version and it does not have multiplayer.
Really I was wondering if I buy the HD version for iPad which has multiplayer can you play against an iPhone or iPod or is it just against other iPads.

Wanted to find this out before I buy it on the off chance I can't.

Cheers for any help.

PC, Windows 7, Can't afford a Mac :(

You should have no problem. The HD version for the iPad just refers to the graphics, the multiplayer mode is done through Game Center.

I just read the app description in iTunes where it clearly states: "Now with Game Center Center Multiplayer!".

Yeah I also read that, but I also do not know of any versus games between iPad and iPhone which means it could only be now with Gamecentre multiplayer for iPad to iPad.

Maybe I will just try if I can not find out. Just hoping someone else in the same situation had already bought it and tried it.

From the iPad version's description:

If you have a Game Center enabled iPad, simply visit the mode select screen, choose Online and get slicing!
