Keeping iPad apps when syncing to new PC

I have an iPad with purchased apps and songs. It was synced with my old laptop which I have sold. When I try and sync the iPad to my new laptop it wants me to erase all of the data but I don't want to do that, is there any way to transfer what is on the iPad to my iTunes library without the need to erase any data.

HP, Windows 7, iPad, iPhone, iPod touch

Right click on the iPad in iTunes and select "Transfer Purchases"

Is there any way of transferring music? It only transferred apps.

It only works with content purchased from the iTunes Store, but should work with all your content. For content not purchased from the iTunes Store, check out this post from Zevoneer for some media recovery options:
