iPad not connecting to home WiFi

I recently received an iPad to use at work, and I'm able to connect to my workplace's WiFi network, but I am unable to connect to our home WiFi. The iPad detects our network and asks for the passcode. When I put in the passcode, it says that is unable to join our network. My laptop and my husband's laptop have no problem connecting to our home WiFi. Our router is a Belkin. Does anyone have any clue what I should do? Should I try contacting the router manufacturer?

I had the same problem and my ip started with 169 too. After trying everything possible and going to the Apple store I finally reset and updated my router. I didn't just turn it off for a few seconds I actually reset it. Look up your model and try resetting it. Mine automatically updated when I reset it. Something about the ip 169 does not work. Good luck.

i had trouble connecting BT home hub to ipad also. It said it was connected to wi-fi and had icon in corner. But when went to safari it said was not connected. What i did was go to settings, where it says choose a Network tapped on Other... then manually entered name BTHomeHub etc, then for security tapped on WEp then entered my password. Now everything is fine 🙂

Did you ever get resolution to your having to constanty renew your lease. Was have to reboot router (residential gateway) about once a month when others in house complained of connectivity issues. Always fixed it. Now it works for a few hours and then have to renew lease on iPhones iPads and touch in the house just about every time you change apps or access Internet. After two calls with AT&T they checked wireless settings and said 'outdated security protocol was enabled " so they disabled and also selected channel 9 instead of being auto. Everything worked this morning but as usual recently after about 12 hours it goes south. Just rebooted router again after renewing a dozen times. AT&T coming out finally but wont commit to replacing router. Did you ever get a solution? Thanks.

Why do so many people insist on regurgitating the same problem with their own lame spin on it??? These forums are like a broken record!!! I don't need to hear that the rash you have is exactly the same as the last person's only on a different part of your groin!!! If you don't have a suggestion just butt out!

Try this fix people, it worked for me:

Go to settings - wifi - select your network and "forget this network".

Then when the iPad rediscovers the network enter the correct password and click join.

End of rant x

Are you all right??

Notice my above comment - this issue is fixed 10 weeks ago - HELLO

YOUR SOLUTION IS TOO LATE & "DOESN'T WORK" EITHER - I tried it months ago. Different Rash Sport - readmaphoo solution above! Different solutions for different problems. Guess you should take your own advice: "If you don't have a suggestion just butt out!"

Personally I have used Macs since 1984 and in all that time I find your comments rate No1 for going against the spirit of the Apple community and in fact the spirit of humanity.

By the way there is no sound on this forum, so you don't hear you read ! And with your attitude you are much better off watching TV.
