Excel files open but Numbers doesn't show its content content

When I open a .xlsx file in Numbers '09, content loads but doesn't show up. Sometimes there is a warning that I shall use Table Unhide All Rows and Table Unhide All Columns to reveal content, but fact is that these options are not available in Table menu. Strange thing is that when you click around you see that there is content, it's just not showing up, and you can't select and change format. This happened with all excel spreadsheets that I tried. Any help?

Try to insert new tables to enlarge the canvas area.

You may also sent one of these .xlsx files so that I may try to find a way to reveal the embedded datas.

Was there anything common to all the Excel spreadsheets you tried, like all created by the same person or all with the same formatting? I once had a spreadsheet that came out looking like white text on a white background and I had to change the colors to see the contents.

What happens if you click on the table in the sidebar then go to the lower part of the sidebar and select one of the table styles there?
