iMovie 11 not importing iPhoto images

Hi!

Since installing iLife 11 I can no longer import iPhoto images into my iMovie projects. Here's the detail:

I select a photo from my iPhoto collection using the multimedia navigator in the bottom right-hand corner of iMovie. I drag an icon of the photo into my iMovie project. The icon appears a few seconds later in the project. But when I play the project, the photo is not shown, the previous sequence freezes for the duration of the time that the image was meant to appear. What's wrong?

Similarly, the iMovie function which is supposed to identify iPhoto images corresponding to the event I am working on, does not work.

I have an Intel iMac and the latest versions of Snow Leopard, iMovie and iPhoto (version iLife 11).

I am naively shocked that two iLife programmes do not interact seamlessly.

We finally figured out a work around that works perfectly and you don't have to start your project over, or rename images.

1. You must drag at least one image into your imovie project library (edited movie) before you drag any event video (raw footage) into the project library.

2. So, copy your edited movie from the project library (if you already have a project started).

3. Create a new project.

4. Drag any photo into your project library from the regular iphoto side bar within imovie. (you can delete it later)

5. Paste your edited project clips into the project library.

6. Done. You can now add other photos and it works.

Thanks Jenny....none of the other suggestions worked for me, but your's did.

Anybody else who has hit the wall on this issue, try the "new project" suggestion from Jenny.

Took seconds to do.

Strangely some (not all) of the movie clips were upside down. I learned you can rotate the clips, which helped me fix an important movie I made a while ago that was taken sideways... so errors have their benefits when solutions are found.

only thing that did not import was the animated text...
