When I open the iTunes Store, it will begin to open properly. Then, it begins to slow down, and right before it is entirely loaded the entire store will turn white! It doesn't say "unable to connect" or anything of that nature. it's just a white screen. This has never happened before, I don't know what to do. A resolution to this problem is of course greatly appreciated.
Same Problem (vers: 9.1.0.79) - I'm reluctant to upgrade to 10.1 as the last time I upgraded it trashed my library and it took me an age to get back, so I guess I'll have to wait for Apple to get it fixed.
Still can't get to the iTunes store. I tried to download the new version even though I don't want it. Can't do that either. It sits for about 20 seconds and then disregards the request. No error message or any other indicator of the problem. It really bothers me that I paid $250 for my iPod and now am trying to spend more money in the store but can't. I really expected more from Apple. As far as support saying it's the computer causing the problem, that's a joke. Everyone was doing fine until a few days ago. Apple really needs to get it together.
Thank You Everyone! Having same prob! GGRRRR- guess I will try to download the new version and go from there----another hour of my life I won't get back! will let you know if it works.
I am experiencing the same problem. I cannot connect to I-Tunes store. As is begins to open it then goes to a white screen. There is no problem code. I have never had this problem before. Please let me know if you find a solution to this problem. Thank you.
I am having the same problem ... Does anybody have some recommendations? I begin to see parts of the store but then the screen goes white and I can't select or purchase tunes
Same here. White screen after clicking iTunes icon on desktop. I have no desire to upgrade. If iTunes is broke, they lose me as a customer until they fix it back the way it was.
I get a double-whammy. I administer the podcast for our church and after uploading a recording, I visit a URL to inform the iTunes store that a new episode is available in our RSS feed. It's worked perfectly for years -- until this white screen iTunes store business started. Now, when I try to alert iTunes (via a URL) of our updated RSS feed, it dumps me off into the iTunes download / upgrade area. No indication that it accepted the RSS update.
So, in addition to not having access to the iTunes Store, I can't tell iTunes to go grab our podcast RSS feed either. Since I'm not going to update, I guess we just have the wait the 24 hours or ?? time it takes iTunes to go update our RSS feed on its own.
White screen problem since at least 2/5. (Last successful download was 1/30.) Haven't tried any of the suggestions here yet. Will report back on how it goes.
I tried RomanMoreno's solution (which I've cut & pasted below), and it worked. No damage to my library. So now we know Apple's fix: "You VILL download new version, unt you vill SMILE ven you do!"
Alright I found a solution. Open your I-Tunes, go to HELP, click "Check for Updates" Install the new version of 10, be PATIENT. The update page for Apple Software first appeared blank. It will appear, UN-check Safari and Quick Time if you don't wish to update those. Click Download and wait, once the new version is installed your I-Tunes Store function will be restored. PITA, but worth it.
It is so nice to know that I'm not alone!! :)I got the white page today 😟 So glade i came across discussion board. Been wanting to know if anyone else's library had crashed when they did their last upgrade. Yes,now I see there are others. Does anyone know.. should this happen every time we upgrade..? Do we have to start our library over every time? I will give this white page a little time to!
No way am I upgrading to iTunes 10. I didn't like the 10 format when I first upgraded and I went back to 9.1.1.12. Thats total BS that they're trying to force upgrading on us. I guess I just won't spend anymore money here!
I fixed the white page!! Try this.. click Help at the top left of the tool bar in your tunes library. Scroll down to.. check for updates. A prompt comes that lets you know (10.1.2) is the current version. Click okay. And the tunes store is back up.
