Cannot Sign In to Mac App Store - NOT SOLVED

Apple, this isn't fixed. I've read other posts about this and the suggested solution. Suddenly and without warning I too can't sign in to the App Store from my MacBookPro and I don't have any of the mentioned third party software installed. I click the sign in option and nothing happens. I can sign in on my iMac which is on the same home network.

I've read about the log in window appearing behind other windows but this doesn't seem to be the case for me.

Apple need to fix this!

Mac Book Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

I struggled like most folks here with the mac app store - could not sign in, did not see a sign in area, app would not DL etc.

What finally worked for me was:

If you have Little Snitch - ensure storeagent in the library preferences is allowed thru Little Snitch

My AVG Linkscanner caused issues as well - I have to turn it off when I go to the Mac app store.

After those tweets it seems ok. The app doesnt DL immediately but if I go into purchases and click install it actually installs.

Plenty of time on this pain in the butt. Good luck to all.

I have the same issue. Has anyone solved this yet? I'm running 10.6.8. I want to download Lion but can not even sign into the App Store. Help!

Try trashing these files and folder and restart your Mac.

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.storeagent.plist

~/Library/Preferences/ByHost

It worked for me. I had same problem months back.
