Problem with Lexmark updating from apple!

To whom may concern,

After updating the Lexmark software (for my case, the Lexmark Series 4900) from apple resources by using the OS utility i ve got the next problem to print:

"the OS can not find the file: /Library/Printers/Lexmark/Drivers/.Resources/4900 Series Color 2.lut" .

and the printer can not be found again from my local wifi network, even using Lexmark tools.

The solution is simple, uninstall all printer software and re-install by using an old version. It works fine even in Snow leopard OS (10.6.6). I do not recommend the automatic OS updating of this Lexmark software al least for now. Maybe the Lexmark soft in apple will need a further revision????.

Sincerely,
Sagrario

I believe I've done everything mentioned in these topics several times, reinstalling, and it didn't work. I have already been searching the internet for another printer... but printers don't come via e-mail and I just had to print this document today. So I found the following (temporary?) solution (you've got to use your terminal for this and it will ask for your admin-password):

sudo cp '/Library/Printers/Lexmark/Drivers/.Resources/4800 Series Color 1.lut' '/Library/Printers/Lexmark/Drivers/.Resources/4800 Series Color 2.lut'

(followd by enter)

Basically it copies the available .lut file and makes sure the 'missing component' is where the printer driver is expecting to find it. It's a bit of a hack, but it worked for me.
