black screen with blinking cursor when installing win 7/vista x64 osx 10.6

i am using bootcamp 3 to install windows 7/vista x64 on osx 10.6.6.when i select install mac reboots and then all i get is a black screen with white cursor.

i have created a 20gb partition with disk utility in fat32 and i had installed windows successfully when i was on osx 10.5.i tried erasing and creating new partition but same problem.

any help will be appreciated

macbook 13" 2.1 intel, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

Have you tried running again the commands after those driver updates?

Don't know what might be causing that, I update my drivers (Nvidia) and it doesn't affect the boot.

No i don't! But i will this night! Do you think that the graphic driver update mess it up??

It might mess up with the boot! I don't know for sure.

Since the commands worked for you the first time, i'm sure they will work again 😀

The only way to boot windows correctly is inserting the Installation DVD of windows inside the superdrive, after that, the boot manager told to start from CD while clicking any button, I wait the timeout and then the Windows 7 Bootcamp partition boots well and everything is working good as ****!

but before i can get to the windows installation i am getting the black screen with curser so i dont have a chance to put in these codes. So now what?

It appears you aren't booting from the windows install disc but from the windows installation in the bootcamp partition instead. Don't forget to press the option (ALT) key when booting and choose to boot from the windows installation disc. It shouldn't hang up.

Well when i hold the option key my option are the Windows DVD, and EFI Boot DVD, there is no option for a Windwos disk, and this after making the bootcamp partition.

When i said Windows Disc i meant the Windows DVD. Does it hang up when you boot from it?
