NAS for the new Apple TV (black box)

I am looking to get a NAS to store all my movies, music and photos. Any that are good and ones to stay away from. I currently have a 1TB Time Capsule, MacBook, New Apple TV, iPhone 3GS. I want to access all my media for both my Apple TV and a Sonos music system I have with out needing my MacBook. Which holds all my media,

Any help would be nice. Thank you.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

the OP is hardly going to store their entire media content on an iphone or ipad - and you would need a computer to put it on there in the first place.

using an ipad or iphone as master device to stream to appletv is not something i would want to be doing.

Sorry for my ignorance, but does "ios" mean "i operating system?" I am using a 64g iPod connected to the back of my stereo with a specific Pioneer DIN cable to a dedicated iPod port (Pioneer Elite). That works great as a storage/input device for my iTunes music and it sounds great (lossless encoding). No wireless network needed. My receiver remote controls all the iPod functions but the limitations are trying to read iPod music info from the very small window on the front on the unit and no video for purchased movies or iPod menu is possible. Have seen on the posts where Apple TV BB doesn't work with NAS; must leave iTunes/computer on. Any other options? I have a wireless N 5.0 network. Has anyone used the NetGear Neo 550?

Thank you. After my post, I went to the local Apple S,tore, visited with their very knowledgeable sales people and purchased an Apple TV G2 box. Hooked it up and it works like a champ. Great product and I saved $$$ from trying to connect my iTunes to my home stereo (also linked my Netflicks, etc, which is golden stuff).

FYI, I also learned from them about the Apple Remote app for my iPhone 3GS. I have a dual band home network. So, here's how it all works: My iPhone connects to my network via the 2.4 SSID connection, links to my iTunes, and the A-TVG2 moves the data from my computer's iTunes library via my 5.0N network. Totally seamless.

You don't need an iPad (a sales pitch on their part for the big screen view for the Remote app...what you select from the iPhone app appears 'big screen' on your connected HDTV). Yes, A-TVG2 is a dual band receiver - it saw both network band SSIDs during setup. Even the Apple Store folks weren't sure if it was dual band capable. That info is a big missing chunck from Apple's specs on the product). Hope this helps for others. No need to invest in a NAS for folks that don't have a lot of 'users' on their home network. The kicker is the inability for Lossless playback and purchased music playback for Windows NAS units that are 'iTunes capable.' A lot of them won't play back Lossless encoding or purchased music. Save some $$$$$, hardware, and hookups.

Thanks again...
