New Verizon Iphone 4 Wont Connect To My WIFI

I'm about to tear my hair out!
I thought I was going to enjoy my new phone playing with it but instead I've spent the past 3 hours trying to connect to my WIFI

I have tried everything, changing to WEP, unpowering and repowering the modem/router, reseting iphone network, updating router firmware, etc

When I connect my internet on my macbook pro it works fine. When I try the key for the iphone it says incorrect password for netgear. I am using an arris triple play modem and a netgear router. The router model is WGR614 v7.

If I can connect with my macbook pro to the netgear network why cant I with my iphone?
The last resort I heard is to restore my iphone completly in itunes but I dont think I want to do that!

Yes, I would replace the router at this point.

You can get the latest version of the Netgear 802.11b/g router that you have now (works with iPhone) at BestBuy for $35.

If you want to move to IEEE802.11 b/g/n you can get this router Netgear - N150 Wireless-N Router now for $40.

Also I'm willing to pay like 60 bucks for a router and want to know-

Is there a difference in speed and connection from a 40 dollar router compared
To a 60 or 80 dollar one etc?

In general, not really. There is the potential for an 802.11n router to operate at a higher speed than an 802.11b/g router but, remember, regardless of your wireless router speed you can't go faster than your ISP internet connection permits.

I am having the same problem on Verizon. I have a one-month-old NETGEAR WGR614-V10 router. Its not on the DD- list but V1 to V9 is. It doesn't exactly build up my confidence. Strange thing is my Touch 4g works fine.

The WGR614v10 should work fine with the iPhone 4 as well as the iPod Touch 3g/4g and the iPad. I have tested all three.

As with all routers you should keep the firmware up-to-date. The Netgear WGR614v10 will automatically check for updated firmware and install it when you login to the router with a browser ( http://192.168.1.1 userid=admin, password=password)

dd-wrt firmware for the WGR614v10 is listed as WIP - work in progress.

this girl knows what she's talking about. and i can finally connect after experiencing the same trouble as everyone else, and searching high and low for an answer (including hours on the phone with tech support and trying every single possible solution under the sun aside from voodoo)!!!
