How do I completely uninstall iphoto 11

Hello,

I've recently upgrade my macbook pro to snow leopard (10.6.6) as well as to iLife 11 from iLife 08.

I'm trying to completely uninstall iLife/iPhoto so that I can reinstall iLife/iPhoto 08.

I accidentally made the mistake of deleting iPhoto from applications (i also deleted iMovie, iDVD and Garage Band) thinking that would uninstall it!

... I should also note that on my system there was absolutely nothing in the Mac HD>Library>Receipts folder pertaining to ilife or iPhoto that I could erase.

So I did this and reinstalled iLife 08 but everything reinstalled except iPhoto. When I did a spotlight search for iPhoto, it doesn't come up on my system.

Right now, it would appear that iPhoto is not on my Mac, I ran the installer again, and the same thing happens

Any suggestions of what I can do to resolve this issue?

Thanks
DJ

I have to disagree, LarryHN. All you have accomplished is to delete the iPhoto App, you have uninstalled nothing. All of the files the installer litters about the system will still be there, and you will not be able to reinstall the app until you delete the corresponding reciept file, and possibly the Application Support files and others. I know, I've tried, and it's really a shame there's not an uninstaller for the iApps, or at the very least a more intelligent installer that can fix problems and/or do a complete reinstall, whether or not certain files are there or not.

Cheers,

I think this may have been the magic hint. I did a clean install of Snow Leopard on our family Mac Mini 1.83 Ghz Core 2 Duo (the latest OS it can take). In doing that clean install, I lost the old iPhoto we had. Of course the latest iPhoto/iLife won't install on Snow Leopard so I tried to find the right version online and couldn't. I found some run around methods which would let me download iphoto 9.2.3 updater from Apple directly and I would use Pacifist to install it but it wouldn't work. Then I lucked out and found an old iLife '11 install DVD with just the right version I needed. However, when I tried to install it, iPhoto wouldn't work. I guess it couldn't overwrite the files. I deleted the items from the /var/db/receipts/ folder still no luck. But after I did the delete from HD/Library/Application/Support, then I was able to use the DVD to install just iPhoto and now it seems to work.
