Unable to ugrade Boot Camp 2.0

I have been trying for weeks to ugrade the Boot Camp on my XP partition! I have a 17" MacBook Pro and ugraded to Snow Leopard and now have Boot Camp 3.0.1 on my MAC partition BUT have continually failed to ugrade the 2.0 on the XP Partition. (And because of that, I can't donload the Windoes Service Pack 3). I keep getting a message that the ugrade can't access an approved BootCamp.msi even though I have the Snow Leopard disc in the drive plus a copy of the files under C: Boot Camp. I even tried downloading the ugrades on a separate DVD AND I did all the InstEd steps, checked that there wasn't more then one display device in the System folder, check for the Language cose, and dropped the Launch Connection - all to no avail.

Why is this such an impossible task?

Just a simple upgrade to Boot Camp 2.1

All my attempts end up with the Boot Camp Services Dialog Box:

'The file "C:\Program Files\Boot Camp\Drivers\Apple\BootCamp.msi' is not a valid installation package for the product Boot Camp Services. Try to find the installation package 'BootCamp.msi' in a folder from which you can install Boot Camp Services.'

FORGOT the 1st Boot Camp Services Dialog Box when the upgrade installation begins -

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.

Click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'BootCamp.msi' in the box below."

The 'network resource' must be a clue, although I have no idea what it is referring to. Also, other then the 'BCUpdateXP.exe' for the 2.1 upgrade, the only other BootCamp.msi would be from the Snow Leopard disc.

Just had a thought, should I be trying to locate my original OS Disc to insert?

I seem to have solved my own problem. Only took weeks to sort out.

I found my old Leopard Disc and once in the drive, repaired the Boot Camp 2.0 and with it, I was then able to install both the 2.1 and 2.2 upgrades. I am now also able to install the Windows Service Pack 3.

It hadn't occurred to me that after upgrading to Snow Leopard, that the XP Partition hadn't been.
