Mac Mini won't read CDs

Hi, my Mac Mini has suddenly stopped reading CDs. When I put a CD into the slot, it just spits it out. This happens with any CD. Any ideas?

Mac Mini, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

DVD's also? If so, you can try a lens cleaner, but it sounds like a busted optical drive.

I purchased a CD at Office Depot to clean my disc drive. It corrected the problem. I got the suggestion from the discussion log. Communicating with Apple was frustrating, time consuming and not helpful.

try Puting in a disc over and over again it worked for me
