Hi,
Some apps have a check box inside the same oval that allows you to Open with Rosetta. This allows some apps written for PPC computers to be run on Intels.
In some cases it will help with Plug-ins and other Add-ons.
On the the other hand, it is now a question of the time you want to put in to this and how adventurous you feel.
As I said the files are created with Quartz Composer which you have on the Install Disk at least as part of Developers Tools.
I would be tempted to Install Quartz Composer, duplicate a working File, transfer patches to that (It might just be the bits between Input and Output).
Or you could play with the settings of those patches that can be altered to see if things can be improved.

The Blue text and arrow point to the window you would start with with a empty work window (green). In "Editing" you would not need to deal with this window.
Some items in the Green text "Work Window" can be expanded in some cases as they contain further sub routines.
If you highlight one item the parameters like speed, colour in some cases and other settings can be adjusted. (Orange text and arrow)
In most cases you either see the working effect without the camera input in others you will see the final result.
Starting with something fairly simple like changing the liked movie (loop) for one like Roller Coaster or Eiffel Tower may be the way to go.
It can be a bit of a steep learning curve but can be fun.
