MacBook Pro Battery (Not Charging)

Hello,

Today I began having some problems with my MacBook Pro's battery. After using it while disconnected from the power supply I closed the lid sending it into sleep mode. A while later I went back to using it and tried to wake it up from sleep mode only to find it wouldn't start up. I assumed that it had run itself down in the time I had left it so connected the adaptor. The green light on the connection came on (indicating it was fully charged) but it started up when I pressed power so I thought nothing of it.

I continued to play around until accidentally knocking the power lead out and finding this to cause it to power down as though the battery was fully drained (which was impossible as it had been connected to the power supply and indicated that it was fully charged). When I reconnected the power supply and started it up again I noticed the battery indicator had a little "X" in it and the LED indicator (on the side) showed no lights when pressed.

After googling the problem for a bit some and not having much luck with people having this specific problem I decided to try restarting it and see what happened. On restarting the "X" disappeared but is now replaced with a "(Not Charging)" message.

I'm not really sure how to resolve this as this is my first Mac and I am more at home with solving PC problems. However when looking at my battery information it says this:

Battery Information:

Charge Information:
Charge remaining (mAh): 0
Fully charged: No
Charging: No
Full charge capacity (mAh): 0
Health Information:
Cycle count: 0
Condition: Normal
Battery Installed: Yes
Amperage (mA): 0
Voltage (mV): 0

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, and I bought my MacBook Pro in early 2010 so the unit is self-contained and I am therefore unable to access the battery itself.

Thanks.

Eww,

You seem to be in the know. I need your genius. My MacBook Pro randomly stopped charging and I receive the message: Battery is not charging while attached to the power adapter. I've reset the SMC and PRAM with no changes. My battery info is included below:

Charge Information:

Charge remaining (mAh): 2647

Fully charged: No

Charging: No

Full charge capacity (mAh): 4914

Health Information:

Cycle count: 335

Condition: Normal

Battery Installed: Yes

Amperage (mA): 105

Voltage (mV): 11471

Any thought or advice before I make the trek to a Genius Bar?

Thanks!!!!!
