Can I charge by USB and play at same time?

Question

Can I charge by USB and play at same time?

I take my ipod classic to work and charge through the USB on my PC at work. Can I play this at the same time it is charging? I can't seem to figure out how to do this but I hope I can because my battery doesn't stay charged very long anymore and would like to be able to play it while charging it. Any and all help is appreciated! Thanks. Gary

Ron, got to work, plugged in USB for iPod, ejected and listened for a couple of hours with it left plugged into USB port. The whole time the battery was decharging and was half gone when finished so was not charging when listening. Any other ideas on how to listen to music and charge at the same time connecting by USB to a PC? Thanks. Gary

It should work, I do it all the time. The only thing I can suggest is to try another USB port. Make sure it's NOT the one on the keyboard. You could also try a wall charger and see if that works any better.

Sorry. Maybe someone else will have a better suggestion.

Eject the iPod but leave it plugged in. The regular screen should appear and you can use it.

As long as it's not syncing, yes. Just navigate to the song you want and hit play.

And how do I do this. My ipod says "Do Not Disconnect" and I have no way to get any other screen. I can't push any buttons to get to any other screens at all????????
