Calibrate iPhone 4?

Is there any possible way to calibrate iPhone 4 screen? My keyboard is all messed up and when i try to type the letter "L", it inserts an "O", or when i try the letter "C" it inserts a Z or an X.

do you have International keyboards turned on - if so make sure its set to the US keyboard - you can tell if you have international keyboards on if there is a globe icon at the bottom of the keyboard - if so either

1) turn off all keyboards except the English one ( im assuming that is the one you want)

or

tap on the globe until the Englishkey
board comes up

There's nothing to calibrate. It sounds like your finger is slipping to the next letter. The keyboard entry doesn't actually happen until you remove your finger.

If there is something wrong, you can usually clear it up by restarting or resetting the phone.

Restart your phone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Reset your phone: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

I don't think it's Emoji or Emoji Pro. . . I reset my phone last night back to Factory Default, and i didn't restore my phone from backup, nor have i downloaded ANY apps at all, or added any contacts. . My phone is pretty much bare now except for the apps that come with the phone I only text and talk now. . It's still giving me problems. . . Plus, my girlfriend has Emoji on her phone, and it's not giving her any trouble.

Just following up on this issue. Any alternate solutions? I have been encountering this exact same issue, and so have two other iPhone users I'm aware of. I feel like there should be a quick way to "calibrate" the keyboard so it doesn't keep back spacing when trying to type the letter "m."

Thanks, in advance, for any additional info.

I have neither of these Emoji Apps, and I still have issues with my iPhone, but it is not limited to the keyboard, if I am trying to drag my icons from one space to another, I have to practically wipe my finger to the very edge to make an icon go to the next page, and often it requires three or more tries. Likewise when trying to navigate in iTunes, address book, messaging.. the toch pad is just plain OFF and it needs to be calibrated, much like you did with a stylus. With my Itouch and my wifes iPhone I have NO issues.

There has to be a way to calibrate the touch screen without having to reset the phone as suggested in this article.

  • The standard troubleshooting steps in order are:
  • Power your iPhone off and on.
  • An iPhone reset.
  • Restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup.
  • Restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
  • If no change after the last step, your iPhone has a hardware problem.

I cannot believe the stupid answers u received, that ur fingers are pressing the wrong button or it's the emoji keyboar. Outta quriosity did u replace ur screen? To me that what sounds like has happened and either the cable connections or the front panel is damaged. Mine also is playing up but I think it's the cable or dust that's causing as it was working fine after new install of front panel but played up after I realized the cable was not through the frame properly lucky they only cost 30$
