"Just share them with only you."

How?

Read the instructions in the link I posted.

You enter the email address of whom you want to share the Photo Stream with (only you).

"Plug your iPad into your computer and open your photo app."

With what?

I don't understand what you mean, "with what"..

With the photo application on your computer.

Plug your iPad into your computer.

Open whatever photo application you use on your computer. The iPad will be seen as a camera. Import the photos with this application.

It was a retorical statment! Obviously if I have to enter MY e-mail address or e-mail it to myself it's basicly the SAME THING!

Except that IT'S NOT! You are not emailing the photos to anyone.

You are simply using the email address to identify who can view these photos in your iCloud (or who the stream will go to if they have iOS 6).

If you do not want to do any of this, plug in your iPad and copy the photos to your computer.

I did it your way and the pictures were added to a new photo stream album (which I had to choose when I sent them over photo stream). When I did it my way (by e-mailing to myself) the pictures were added to "My Photo Stream" album which is where I wanted them! So, I think you misunderstood what I was trying to do. And the only way I can seem to accomplish this is by e-mailing them to myself unless you have another solution.

You see, I took pictures with my iPad before I turned on the photo stream. So now I have pictures that are in an album that is not the "My Photo Stream" album. I was trying to get these pictures in the "My Photo Stream" album on the iPad. Not into another album on my iPad in photo stream. Can you grasp this concept, and do you know another way to accomplish this without the e-mail solution?

Okay, I get it.

You see, I took pictures with my iPad before I turned on the photo stream. So now I have pictures that are in an album that is not the "My Photo Stream" album. I was trying to get these pictures in the "My Photo Stream" album on the iPad.

You cannot.

Is there some reason you want them in the original Photo stream and you don't want to use a Shared Photo Stream?

What exactly is it you are trying to accomplish? What's the end result?

You want them on your computer?

You want them on someone elses iDevice/computer?

You wrote earlier,

"And how do I get these photos to my desktop without having to e-mail them?".

To get the photos onto your computer withourt emailing them, you plug your iPad into your computer or use Shared Photo Stream and download them from iCloud (unless you are using a MAc, then open iPhoto and you can view/download the Photo Streams).

My original post:

"I'm trying to move pictures from the camera roll to the photo stream and can't find a way to accomplish this. I was able to actually e-mail myself one of the pictures to my icloud e-mail address and get the picture to the photo stream that way,"

I didn't say I was trying to get them to my computer! BUT if I get them to the photo stream ("My Photo Stream album) then they are automatically uploaded to my photo stream album in my computer too. You say you cannot, but you can by e-mail. I've done it. I was just asking if there was an easier way.

Obviously there is NO OTHER WAY. So I appreciate all your attention to my issue.

By the way, the reason I want them on the original Photo Stream album is I don't like random albums that I can't manipulate. And this is another issue with photo stream I genunely dislike. I wish apple would make the photos movable in a drag and drop type format or something simple like that. Thanks again for your assistance.

Every photo in every album will ALWAYS be in Camera Roll or Photo Library. This is because photos in Albums are simply a link back to the photo in Camera Roll or Photo Stream.

This works the same for music in iTunes. All music is ALWAYS in Music and a playlist is simply a bunch of links to the file in the Music library.

I didn't say I was trying to get them to my computer!

But earlier,m you did write, "And how do I get these photos to my desktop".

Did you mean something else besides yoru desktop computer?

Yes you are correct! But every photo IS NOT in "MY PHOTO STREAM" which is the problem.

Yes, I misspoke! If my pics on my iPad are in "My Photo Steam" album then they are automatically sent to my desktop computer. Some of the pics on my iPad are in the camera roll and NOT in the "My Photo Stream" album. What I meant to say was "how do I get these photos in Camera Roll to the "MY Photo Stream" album?" Because that apparently can't be done from inside the iPad.
