I agree. My Iphone ***** too. Not only I can't move pics to other folders, if I try to hide a pic it still showes in the original folder showing the image. Im going back to Androids. Never again IPhone....,I am do disappointed.
By the way, the reason I want them on the original Photo Stream album is I don't like random albums that I can't manipulate.
The albums aren't random and you can manipulate them.
Create albums on yoru computer and move the photos around.
These sync'd albums cannot be manipulated on the iPhone (but really ho wmuch are you going to be changing your "regular" on the iPhone?
You can create new albums on the iPhone itself and manipulate these albums.
Note that only that last 1000 photos are on Photo Stream for only there for 30 days.
After that, they will still be on your iPhone but not in Photo Stream, So putting photos in Photo Stream is not a permanent solution to organizing them in Albums on your iPhone.
To get these onto your computer (which is designed to be your main photo library)...
Just download Photomanager Pro for $2.99. You can move photos between folders on your phone & you can copy from phone to computer via wifi or cable. This app is great. Beats the default photo program all to pieces.
WHat I have discovered is that your camera roll stores ALL the photos you want stored on your device. If you want to be more organized then create as many albums as you like. This is done by tapping on the + sign. A dialogue box will come up and you fill in the name of the new album.
To pace any photos from your camera roll to a different album go to the camera roll and and tap the EDIT button. This allows you to tap on all the photos you would like to add to any of your other albums. Once you have selected those photos, the SLIDESHOW button changes to a button that says ADD TO.... Tap on that button and it gives you the options for all your albums.
the photos will still stay in I our camera roll but just think of that as storage and use your albums for easy look up.
I Have not found a way to change the order in which your photos are listed in each album. It may be in the order in which you add them to an album. Play with it and see.

It stores photos you take with your device.
If you sync them thru iTunes, they are not in the Camera roll.
you said it!!! I expected so much more from them. I honestly don't get all the "hype" with apple. just glad people are starting to see it for what it is, over priced badly thought out product. It's a shame to think of what the Ipad could have been. I assumed it would be easier on us. especially since a device like the Ipad changed the way the world does things, they could have made the introduction a tad easier to follow. now no body knows how to "handle" an Ipad without an expert and a instruction book. SMH! Extremely frustrating 😢 😕 SIGH. People at

To move your photos from one album to another, begin by going to the album that contains the photo you want to move, then:

Yeah, this was solved like 4 years ago.
And as noted, you are not moving them anywhere.
You are simply deleting them from one album and adding them to another album.
On your iPhone, tap "Photos", then go to "Albums". Tap "+" to create the album you want and enter a name for this album. Next, you can add the photos you need to this album from another album. You can also use iPhone Transfer tool to manage your photos, copying one pic from the album to another album. And it allows you to transfer photos from iPhone/iPad to computer.

You replied to a +4 year old post that was solved a long time ago!
I am a recent MacBook user and everything is SO much harder than Windows. I can't do anything with my photos. they're never in the album I want them in, they don't import correctly, I can't rename them. It's just so locked into one way of doing things.

They don't import into ANY album.
they don't import correctly,
How are they importing?
I can't rename them.
How are you trying to rename them?
It's just so locked into one way of doing things.
They are imported into Photos app then you can easily do all the above.
Yes we used to be able to move a photo from one album to another on the iPad/iPhone but suddenly we can't. This is absolute rubbish really and so many things have been changed both on the Mac and the iDevices which are ****** annoying. I would like to go back to Yosemite and the equivalent on the iPad etc as all of this could be done plus all the other things which I haven't mentioned. Maybe they are trying to downgrade their products?? I am an Apple person through and through but El Capitan and iOS equivalent have taken us back to the dark ages. When are Apple going to realise that they don't have to go one better than other brands as the product in itself is fantastic and streets ahead of anything else...Steve wouldn't like this!!

Pretty sure this was not possible.
If it wasn't a fact I wouldn't have bothered posting anything. I used to teach over 70 people in a group I created. I gave it all up 2 years ago due to illness but I absolutely loved it.

Not sure why you are replying to me.
It's never been possible to amend (delete, move, add photos) albums that were synced from a computer directly on an iPad - the changes would have to be done on the computer and synced to the iPad.
For albums that were created directly on an iPad you could, and still can, add photos to, and remove photos from, those albums.
