screen flicker using external ACD on new 15" MBP

I recently got the new thunderbolt equipped base 15" MBP and use it with my 24" LED ACD. Randomly the screen will flicker on and off. It does this whether using the discrete or integrated graphics and have not seen it do it while using the built in display. I have not found any way to reproduce it since it seems to happen at random intervals. Is this a driver issue? Or a hardware problem and should I go replace it at my Apple Store?

MBP i5 2011, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

Exact same symptoms here... New MBA and a philips tv via thunderbolt-hdmi adapter

I get intermittent flicjer followed every few times by negative green distortion

Ive tried changing refresh rate to 60hz, output from ntsc to PAL

Any thoughts?? Could it be proximity of the laptop, tv and time capsule?

macbook pro 13, i7, thunderbolt.

External tv: Philips 32 tv connected through thunderbolt/hdmi is flickering, also screen turns negative-green then automatically returns to normal. Every more-less 15 mins.

Must mention that Dell external monitor works absolutely perfect.

I am already updated to the newest fixes through software update.

hopefully we get soon a fix to this.

I'm experiencing this exact problem, and having read through many of the treads I still havn't found a solution.

I'm using a late 2011 13" macbook pro, 2.4 GHz, with OS 10.9.2 and a 20" ACD

10.9.2 and is still flickering? OMG..

Try changing the refresh rate. Go to apple > system prefrences > displays > select the ACD display and from here try to work either on lower Hz refresh rate or try different values at the ACD resolution.

Where you using the same cable, ACD, mbp before the filckerings came up? Might be a damaged cable or adaptor?

Sometimes before the major update on os x HDMI option, the HDMI transfered audio and video (instead of only video now). Go to system prefrences and check the audio source (and output) if they are at their normal settings while the ACD is connected.

I tried everything but ultimately, it was my video card that went. Gave me a good excuse to jump to the MBPr.

The flickering has seemed to die down almost completely, so long as I connect and turn on the MBP and ACD in a certain sequence. So hopefully it keeps working this way, not ideal but at least its usable!!
