MacBook Pro 2011 don`t accept Wlan Password

Hello,

we have several MacBooks (mod 2010) and other Notebooks in our Wlan Network.
Now we have the (mod 2011) and it don't accept our Wlan Password! The new MacBook will find all our Wlan Networks, if i type in the password it says "connection failed".
In one of our networks we have a WPA protection with numbers and letters.
In our WPA2 network we have signs like this "!", i think that's the problem. But the Mod 2010 MacBooks can all work with this signs. Wath we can do to connect the new MacBook without change the password? We have 60 Notebooks in our Network and can not change all the passwords.

Sorry the problem is not solved, it was only WPA! We can't connect to any WPA2 Wlan. Without WPA2 protection we can login, if we protect the network again with WPA2 we can't connect to the network! We have testet a D-Link and a TP-Link Router, every time the same.

Bad Wlan Cards in the "new" MacBooks User uploaded file?

Now we have replaced our AccessPoint and it works. But all the others incl. the MacBooks 2010 works with our old AP. I will say the Wlan Hardware from the new MacBooks is not better 🙂 But it works now.

alternate,
what special character's were you using ? Can you paste the password ( maybe slightly modify it ) and paste it here ? Could you identify which character it was that's causing an issue ?
If you have an ADC account, I would encourage you to create a bug report for apple. Else, if you paste a similar password that does not work, I can test it and create a bug report for apple, so they fix it. That will help everyone.

I'm having the same problem. Just got a new macbook pro 2011 15" 2,2 from the local dealer. Network (time capsule 2009 500gb 5Ghz) says "Connection Failed". Password is correct, I have three other computers (iMac, Macbook Pro 2010, Macbook Pro 2007) connecting without problems. I have no idea how to solve this problem because it does connect at other locations.

Hi, I have the same problem, have you found an answer yet? I am trying to connect to a wireless modem with a WEP password but it always says "connection failed" aven though I have the right password. My other macbook 2010 connects to the wireless network perfectly. I can also connect to the nternet using ethernet cable connected to the modem. The computer also connects to other wireless networks with no problems, just this one. Hope you can help,
Bene B.

I've the same problem. We have a fastweb router (where we are not able to change the settings) and my housemate is able to login to that router by WLAN, but I'm not able.
I also bought a AP Express and connected it to the router by ethernet, but also when I tried to create a WLAN-connection to the AP I got a timeout.

I also installed OS X complete new, but afterwards the same problem occured.

Change your Wlan PWD, make one without any special caracters and it works.

I have the same problem with MBAir`11. It works fine if the security is WPA but not with WPA2. As we know the new MacBooks won`t work with WPA2 if the password have special characters. The password is 58D3SA0E9A. So there is no any special characters. I guess it doesn't work because of the uppercase letters. Unfortunately I can't do any changes for this network. It doesn't work with the iPhone 3GS as well. The password is correct cause it works fine with my old MacBook (2007).
