iTunes store not working

I'm having trouble accessing my itunes store. It will flash the normal screen, but then turn white and the search won't work. Anyone have this same issues, or know of a fix?

Thanks.

I tried what said to do Ken and it didn't help. Thank you for the detailed instuctions. I'm suprised when I read all these pages how many people are having this problem. It's interesting that there are so many solutions to not

conecting to the store. I've used Itunes for about 3 years now to buy music and never had this much of a problem.

I wonder what happened to the software?

CrazyCloud14,

I feel your pain. When this 1st happend, I had no idea what went wrong except I knew was I had a new Dell Inspiron and at some point the store broke. iTunes was working fine on my 1-month old computer and around an update to 10.6, things fell apart. It was frustrating to a point where I did a factory restore and started loading software one at a time until it broke. This is when I concluded it was RealPlayer 15 and iTunes 10.6. Fortunatly when I removed the RealPlayer, iTunes started working. The one thing you can do is in the help menu of iTunes where there is an option to run Diagnostics for iTunes. This is when I found the problem why when starting the software, the store just sat there blank. I'm with you in that I've used iTunes for many years with little problems until recently. Luckily I have found Amazon store has been flawless for music purchases and even have things on sale.

Long story short, I was lucky in that I had an idea when iTunes broke. Something is getting in the way so run Diagnostics to see if you can even talk to the store. If not, then either another program is conflicting, the firewall or anti-virus program is blocking it.

There is an update to 10.6 (10.6.1) that just came out not to long ago and you can try it. Doubt you can go back to a prior release that worked since it updates the database during release updates. Unless you do a clean install and add your music again - which I can't imagine would be fun.

Run Diagnostics and see where that takes you then look in your program list to see when you installed each program and possibly start peeling things back.

I wish you the best and good luck.

I finally found the solution for my problem. I have a windows 7 PC. For weeks I tried everything here.

I downloaded the autoruns program

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902

I looked at winsock providers and noticed that something called speedbit video accelerator was also running

I could not completely ininstall it. I went to the services tab in autoruns and unchecked speedbit video accelerator

and "HOLY SMOKES" I could connect to the ITUNES store after months of pulling my hair out, installing and reinstalling software. This is sort of hinted at elsewhere in these threads. I think realtunes installs the speed bit video accellerator, I'm not sure. i COMPLETELY uninstalled the real player before but it didn;t work

I sure hope this helps someone out there, cause I was LOOSING my mind. LOL.

maybe someone here can provide the origin of speedbit video accelerator and why is screws with Itunes?

Hey guys. I am running a Windows 7 machine myself. It is fairly new and does not contain RealPlayer or anything. I downloaded autoruns and nothing like speedbit or anything that seems to conflict with iTunes is running on the machine without my knowledge. When I installed iTunes my firewall did not automatically ask me for an exception or to confirm the programs certificate or anything like it usually does. I checked my firewall and added iTunes to the trusted application section (my firewall did not even have its own heading for it yet) and still it will not connect. My Ipod touch itself can access the store, so it has to be something to do with my laptop, but I cannot fathom what. Each time I open iTunes to check stuff out it tries to access the store now, without me telling it to and just sits there. After a few seconds of failed attempts the program seems to hang itself up. Any insight at all would be helpful at this point. I'll keep searching on my own and see what I can come up with. Thanks 😀
