iPod Case/Screen Protector

I am going to invest in a new iPod and buy a 4th Generation 64GB iPod Touch. I was wondering what cases you guys would recommend and what screen protectors you would recommend. I originally had the 2nd Generation 32GB iPod Touch with a clear snap-on case that worked amazing so I bought one of those (it was a different company that made one designed specifically for the 4th generation) and I originally had a mirror screen cover but I no longer wanted one of those so I just picked some random ones out.

In your experience what type of cases/screen protectors work best. Thanks!

I think your case choice should be dependent on lifestyle. I like the covered ones that flip open because I know I will not crack the screen if I shove it in my purse or my kids throw it in their back pack. I think the flip top helps prevent scratches too but my kids find it a nuisance and just take it off, resulting in no protection. Some of the cheaper cases are hard plastic that shatter if dropped, not worth the money. There is a plastic one that stores your ear buds in the back. Make sure you buy the protector for your generation because the buttons are not in the same place!!

In terms of screen protector, I don't think it matters what brand. Just make sure your screen is really clean before you put it on. They are relatively expensive, $14, and if put them on dirty they just peel right off. Sometimes you can find a 2 pack, but I have yet to find "bulk".

Of course, it all depends on how you use the Touch - and what kind of protection you require.

For example, I don't like thick, silicone or plastic cases, and the flip variety just adds to the thickness. Unless you're in the habit of dropping your Touch, there's not much chance of breaking the screen - though it's been known to happen, rarely. The ultra-thin Bodyguardz skins affords 100% coverage of the surface against scratches and light bumps, and the surface resists the buildup of oils.
