Unknown IMEI/ICCID

Hi, after using the phone for several hours my carrier crashes and after i reboot my device i get to see the iTunes logo and when i press the sign it shows;

IMEI: UNKNOWN
ICCID: UNKNOWN

When i reconnected the iPhone several times, iTunes will activate the phone.

The phone is bought at a local retail store, and is factory unlocked. If i restore it with iOS 4.2.1. it works for a few hours and after that it stops again.

My iPhone stopped mounting in iPhoto before I had the connect to restore message and the unknown IMEI and ICCID message. On the Mac end, iTunes said it couldn't sync because I needed to enter my passcode, but since the phone wouldn't boot, that wasn't an option. I left the phone plugged in overnight and it kept trying unsuccessfully to reboot itself. I tried rebooting manually a dozen or more times the next morning. Finally, success! Once rebooted, it behaved strangely with several tested apps quickly crashing. I connected the phone to a PC via USB cable and pulled off the unsynced photos manually for good measure. Then I connected it to the Mac I usually sync with and was able to sync without error. Finally, I updated the phone software (as an update had just been released), and now the phone and apps are working as they should, and the phone again mounts in and syncs with iPhoto. Although I keep seeing that the unknown IMEI/ICCID can signal a hardware problem, I'm thinking maybe it was gradual software corruption that was the problem for me. (Phone is not jailbroken.)

I am having same problem. Previously I had a phone with hardware problem (a pink line appeared on my front facing camera) and the customer service swap me another phone (they said it's new) but it could been a factory refurbished ? Now after I restored my data and got back all he apps on itunes, it worked for a week and now it has this error message. IMEI unknown ICCID UNKNOWN.

Now each phone has it's own unique IMEI, since i have been given a new one, does it matter it the IMEI is not the original one matching with my AppleID? Also if it takes a week to break down, it could be a factory refurfished "new phone" I was given as the on-off button is not as sensitive to my first phone (which is definately new).

I tried restoring but was unsuccessful for the last 30 times. I seriously feel this is a hardware error.

I have a IPhone 4s

cannot make calls out - phone rings on receiver's end but no audio in ear

activating speaker does not help

unit plays music fine

when calling out, unit gets stuck - call ending.....

tried soft reset- power off/ home to no avail

also incoming calls ring on callers ear, but no reaction or indication in the iphone that someone is calling.

Did try turning wi-fi off but no difference.

Any Help?
