Drum loops sound odd

Hey all

I went to set up a simple drum loop today on garageband 11 to use as a metronome and every drum loop sounds weird and echoey, I've listened to it through headphones going through my alesis mixer, headphones through my mac and through the macs speakers but it still sounds the same.

Does anyone know how to fix this or has anyone else encountered the same problem?

Are you dragging the loops into an existing track? Then the track might contain some effects already.

Nope into a new track with no effects on and they still sound weird an echoey, its not just the drums though its most loops but every now n then one will be fine its really weird.

Are there any effects on the Master track?

Are you monitoring in mono or stereo?

I think I've sorted it out, the track I was trying to add the loop to was only 45 bpm so it was making the loops to slow it seems which was making them sound odd, Thanks for all the replies and help
