CD burned on IMac will not play on car player

I followed the instructions as to using a burn folder, dragging files into it and burning the CD and it will play back on this machine or on my MacBook but when I try it in the car it says "no music file". In another car it says "check CD" and ejects it.

Imac 24, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

You need to make sure you burned it as a music cd. Not an mp3 (unless your cd player supports that).

A tradition cd is burned in .wav format. More like a record.

You can also burn them as a data or .mp3 cd which is more like how your computer stores the files.

You need to make a playlist in iTunes and burn it that way in order for it to burn a .wav cd.

More then likely that is the reason your computer will play it but your car will not. That is of course just a guess based on the little info you gave.

You're entitled to your opinion; however, the fact remains that the Superdrives are finicky. Using Memorex is not irrelevant - as it does not have a good reputation here - sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I only burn at 2x max. At this point, my suggestion is that you make an appointment at your nearest Genius Bar for a diagnosis of your problem.

No the above does not work

Obviously I'm burning an audio cd I ain't that stupid

Errors in finder

Cd won't play in car if made via iTunes

Using mountain lion iMac junk 6 months old

Can make them fine on a £200 laptop

But not a £2000 iMac?

And why are there so many threads about this?

And why are they so many stupid answers that do not fix the problem?
