Easy enough - the iPhone 3GS has 16GB or 32GB of storage capacity, not 8GB.

Your iPhone with 8GB of storage capacity is a 3G, not a 3GS.

Edit - when the iPhone 4 was released, the iPhone 3GS was available with 8GB of storage capacity so what I provided previously is not accurate.

You have a 3G. 2G are model MAxxxx, 3G are MBxxxx and 3GS are MCxxxx.

Then why are they advertising a 3GS with 8GB for $49?

Your edited message is quite accurate. Based on the OP's comment about having had their phone for over a year, your initial assessment is probably quite accurate, since the 8GB iPhone 3GS has only been out since late June 2010 (just over 8 months now).

i just bought a second hand iphone 3g and it still has the previous owners itunes account on here and it wont let me download nothing due to this ive tryed signing into my own account on the settings menu but still NOTHING is there any way in deleteing the previous owners account and carry on usein mine ?? !!
