cant update to 4.3

my ipod touch 3rd gen 8gb connects to itunes 10.2.1 ok but when i check for updates....it just says 4.2.1 is the current version...i have tried everything but please feed me your ideas coz i really want this updated software

So they DID make it. and they are just choosing to screw the 8gb 3rd gen owners out of getiing the 4.3 software.

What is the number on the back of your iPod Touch...
A1288 which is a 2nd generation iPod Touch

The link you point to does NOT say it is a 3rd generation model.

Hi, I think its a bug. People keep saying it could be your firewall etc but I got the error connection timed out. I had already updated my iPhone 4 with no problem. It was just my iPod touch 4th gen which had the problem

I'm having the same problem - totally bonkers that you can't update the software.
