Lost all the sound on my iPad game apps

There is no sound when I play my games anymore. This is the second time I've had problems with sound. I already had to switch out one iPad. I have a lot of apps and info on this one. I don't want to start all over again.
Anyone eLse have specific sound problems? My iTunes work, videos work. I can hear them all. But not game sounds.

And sound is half the fun with angry birds.

Is the switch on the right hand side of your iPad 'on' ? Rotation lock is a software function on the taskbar in 4.2 and the switch mutes notifications e.g. so that you can watch videos or listen to music without hearing email notifications etc. If you are on 4.3 then you can change the function of the side switch between rotation lock and notification muting. More info here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

Rotation lock via the taskbar : double-click the home button, slide from the left, and its the button far left; press home again to exit the taskbar; repeat to switch off rotation lock.

This seems like a bug to me.

I had the same issue...no sound on games, but sound on iTunes, videos, etc. But I had the rocker switch set to "lock Rotate", and it was OFF. I even got the notification at times to increase sound effects, and it allowed me to turn up the volume of sound effects. But still no game sounds.

So in the mode of "try everything" I followed King_Penguin's advice (Thanks KP.) Switched the side switch to "Mute", turned it on, turned it off, and back to lock "rotate" (still off, though.) Now the sound in games works.

Anyway, it works now. But seems like a bug that would be nice to have fixed.
