Weird issue since installing iOS 4.3

Since I've installed iOS 4.3 my iPod Touch 4 (only about 8 months old & perfect condition) has been acting strange. It's hard to describe this issue but I've noticed little glitches here and there with some of the artwork/graphics of the OS.

For example when my iPod is locked, on the locked screen at the top (menu bar) the lock icon becomes snowy/glitchy. I've had this happen when notifications pop up there is a background outline of a square that is also snowy.

The graphics for some reason have a snowy and animated outline. This iPod is not hacked or dropped or anything I don't understand why this is happening. I've turned it off and turned it back on and still having the issue.

It is NOT a major issue, it is odd though and having issues with the display on this type of device still can't be a good sign right? I've never seen this anywhere before so I thought I'd ask on here. It does go away after a few seconds.

Here are some photos I made in Photoshop to simulate what I mean. Notice the static "noise" around the icons. Sometimes they actually flicker in an animated motion and are even bigger at times. This has only happened with pop up notifications and the lock icon as simulated. This has only happened when the device is sleep and I press the home button to find it spazzing out. It's always random, which is why I have no actual photos. When it did happen (about 4 times this evening so far) it was idle for about an hour or so until I bothered with it. If I messed with it after being idle after maybe 5-30 minutes it's normal. Other than that this issue never happens and I've a heavy user of the iPod. Here are the photos:

I've also had the same issue, I noticed it glitching around the WiFi signal indicator, on an eBay notification and in Safari. Glad this is software related.

I'm having the same problem on a 1-month old 4th gen iPod Touch. Just did the soft reset, and it fixed the problem, but I don't expect the fix to last. I'm sure a "4.3.1" update will come out soon fixing this (I hope)

Yes I'm still having the same issues even after the complete reinstall. In fact I restored it twice even which was not a fun process at all. Anyway yes it was still the 4.3 even after a total restore unless I did it wrong? During the restore in just started all over and not from a previous save, the only other save I had was from 2010. But like I said I'm still having he issues and I'm not sure there is anything else I can do at this point. 😟

Thanks for sharing your iPod-restore experience with us. At this point, I guess, we should just wait for Apple to release a bug fix for this issue, unless someone else comes out with a solution.

All I can offer is a me too. Its' only happened once with my morning alarm. I've tried the reboot. We'll see what happens.

I have these flicker too, on the locked screen, black lines appear random on the 4 digit box(this one stay still)and the padlock icon with white lines(this one is flickering), the spinning connection indicator icon also flickering(found it when updating iMovies). iPod Touch 4th gen, iOS 4.3

If you have tried restoring then try downgrading. It is probably a glitch they need to fix in the next update. You can only downgrade if you have saved your ShSh. If you do not now how to downgrade try and get help from a friend. And for future reference don't upgrade right away cause the OS is bound to have bugs when first released.

Any idea when the next upgrade is? I will just wait until then, whenever that is. I don't want to mess around and make things worse because I honestly have no idea how to do that.

I just installed mine yesterday on iTOuch 4g. I did a complete restore and made a clean install of iOS 4.3. As I was playing with it, testing overall "snappiness" of the homescreen etc... I noticed some random graphics errors like when syncing my iPod, the battery indicator disappears or blinks periodically. I also experienced a time when the slider of the lockscreen does not respond correctly to my finger even after several swipes. I also noticed some random jitter in other parts of the iOS particularly the buttons.

I suspect that this has something to do with open gles 2 graphics of the iOS but i hope apple fixes this problem with a new update. One thing is for sure, this problem sure is weird.

the only way i have found to minimize the effects of the glitches is to disable auto brightness and other automatic stuff like push and similar services. by doin this i have managed to confine it to the locksreen status bar wifi and lock icons hope this works for others.

Not only did I have major problems installing this update, which was covered in another topic. (Error messages, and having to completely restore my ipod.) Since then, I've noticed in the lock screen, certain notifications seem to have some sort of flash thing (almost looks like it's blinking in some cases) Similar to other posters in this thread. After rebooting it many times, the same issue is happening. Thank you.

we don't know. let this be an object lesson to never update Apple product's OS's until you have read for a few days that it appears to be "safe" to do so. Apple has lots of issues with single-decimal updates.

I have the same problem, and my touch is just two weeks old. Only encountered this problem after doing the OS update last night. So is this going to be resolved or what???

This is a user-to-user help forum. Apple is not reading these forums for bug reports. We are all users here and no one knows when this issue will be resolved.

To all who are having this problem please report it directly to Apple at this address: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipodtouch.html.

Just posting here does not guarantee that Apple is notified of the problem.
