iOS 4.3 Running Sluggish?

Can confirm. iOS 4.3.1 solved all the issues for me. No problems so far!

So glad to that this is common and not just an issue with my phone. The 4.3 update made my 3GS much slower and glitchy. I am installing the 4.3.1 update right now, hope this helps.

Well, I've given 4.3.1 3 days and I must say my 3GS is operating much better. Still not buttery smooth like before 4.3 but I can at least use it without the urge to throw it against the wall - repeatedly. Now hopefully I can make it to the iPhone 5 before upgrading. June? July? hopefully.

i upgraded 4.3.1 to my iphone 3GS. my phone is not as sluggish in comparison to 4.3. however, my mpg4 movies are still running terribly. it's "pixel-ly", the sound is jerky, it stalls, etc. in other words, i cannot watch a movie on my iphone. i can watch short videos (5 mins or less) but it will not play movies. I'M SO FRUSTRATED i thought 4.3.1 would be the answer. hopefully, a 4.3.2 is coming out immediately.

is there any way to go back to 4.2.1 (or whatever it was)?

1. There is no officially sanctioned way to go back to a previous release

2. There's a good chance it won't fix the problem, because the problem isn't the release itself, it's something that got corrupted in the update process (which happens to a few phones with every update).

3. Apple is not going to release a version to fix it, because it is a problem with your phone, not with the release.

4. So the best thing to do is to troubleshoot it yourself, using the tips in this thread, other threads, and on the Internet.

I updated my 3GS to 4.3.1 tonight and the sync has been a disaster. It is caught in a loop between the passcode lock and the restart. The phone is unusable. I have restarted it, restored it and nothing works. Any tips out there?

I'm not sure what's happening to your phone. Did you try a DFU restore?
