ios 4.3 - 3GS freezes after entering PIN-Code

Same here!
I am using "Vodafone DE" as my provider. If i use my phone without SIM card, there are nore problems! As soon as i enter the pin, it freeze completely!
Any suggestions?

Same with me and 3GS, IOS 4.3 update & a german Vodafone SIM. Disabled PIN, but it starts to freeze, when searching for a signal. Would appreciate any help.

I just updated by iPhone 3Gs to ios 4.3 and I have not been able to get it to boot.

For me the same. Vodafone DE (Ultracard).

Will it be solved with a new SIM-Card or is it only an idea?

I don´t think another SIM-card solves the problem.
I have the exact same issue with my 3GS on iOS4.3, which I´m using with VodafoneDE.

I have gotten my SIM-card changed by Vodafone a month ago (NOT due to the issue we´re facing here now. That just started occuring on iOS4.3), so it should be the latest revision of SIM-cards.
But still: My 3GS freezes when doing a carrier search! It´s like gambling to have it working as it should be, unless you´re not losing connection, then again it freezes.

!!!@APPLE + VODAFONE : This is a major issue!! The 3GS is useless in this state!

Any solution is much appreciated!

Sorry, ich weiß das man hier englisch schreiben sollte. Aber dazu bin ich jetzt um diese Uhrzeit nicht mehr in der Lage und ich glaube das Problem haben sowieso nur Vodafone DE Kunden.

Nach dem ich jetzt fast den kompletten Tag mit dem Problem verbracht habe weiß ich wirklich nichts mehr was ich noch versuchen könnte.

Fakt ist, das iPhone läuft stabil. Sobald man die SIM-Karte (ca. 6 Monate alt) einlegt gibt es Probleme. Ich habe mit einer T-Mobile SIM getestet, damit traten keine Probleme auf. Ebenso lief es bei mir stabil wenn ich eine Wiederherstellung durchgeführt habe, ohne ein Backup einzuspielen. Also eine wirklich Zurücksetzung. Da sind dann aber meine beruflichen Daten weg, geht nicht, da nicht alle Apps eine gute Sicherung bieten.

Getestet habe ich noch mit einer alten ipcc-Datei, hat auch nichts gebracht.

Stabil war es einmal. Da habe ich eine Wiederherstellung ohne eingelegter SIM durchgeführt. Dabei auch ein Backup ausgewählt, aber dann nur die wichtigsten Apps synchronisiert. Alles andere deaktiviert, also keine Musik, keine Klingeltöne usw. Wichtig ist 3G und Mobile Daten zu deaktivieren. Möglicherweise hängt das mit dem neuen Personal Hotspot zusammen. Dieser ist nämlich nicht verfügbar wenn Mobile Daten nicht aktiv ist.

Eben habe ich noch zufällig festgestellt. Wenn man die SIM-Pin ändern möchte, dann hängt sich das iPhone auch auf. Könnte also wirklich auf ein Problem beim Zugriff auf die SIM hindeuten.

Jetzt bin ich mir relativ sicher dass es etwas mit der SIM zu tun hat. Habe nämlich unter Einstellungen - Telefon die Eingabe der PIN deaktiviert. Und somit die PIN hinterlegt. Normalerweise sollte nach dem Einschalten sofort ein Netz gefunden werden.

Jetzt bleibt das iPhone beim Apple Logo hängen. Ohne eingelegte SIM bzw. T-Mobile SIM nicht.

Bleibt noch die Frage weshalb es bei einer Wiederherstellung ohne Restore funktioniert. Aber da gehe ich davon aus dass irgendeine Einstellung restored wird die dafür verantwortlich ist.

What do you mean with your statement, that it will work, if you reset your iPhone without any restore?

For me it doesn't work. Currently it's only working, because I turned off the PIN-Code. In my opinion not the best solution!

Guess he means restoring it without installing the backup afterwards. But that didn´t work for me either.

Another attempt would be to restore the iPhone using a different computer with a fresh itunes installation, I will try that later on. Maybe it´s got something to do with iTunes, I actually don´t know. That really bugs me, Apple
