I have a general question regarding IOS 4.3. Playing around with my iPhone, I began to take notice of features that were described on the IOS page on Apple.com but were not seen on my phone. I ran multiple restores on my phone it's not even funny(15 Times). there is no Home Share, Noteworthy, Redesigned App Store and redesigned Keyboard. My question is that even though the iPhone 3GS is present as a device that is capable of using IOS 4.3, are there features that are no capable such as the iPhone 3G and iPod 2G.
MacBook Pro,
Mac OS X (10.6.6),
iPad 16GB, iPhone 3GS 16GB, iPod touch 32GB
You really should start your own thread. It's more polite, and is more likely to get you appropriate help (this thread is starting to get pretty cluttered with various issues).
ok. i really DO have an iPhone 3Gs.... and iTunes v10.2.1 (1), which will not give me the option to upgrade to 4.3. It fails to display anything other than "up to date" with v4.2.1.
I upgraded to 4.3 and have been getting no signal or week signal on my 3gs. Any suggestions what I can do to fix this? I've already gone to at&t to get a new sim card an there's no improvement to my signal strength.
I'm guessing it's your OS version. From the iOS4 specs...
Mac system requirements:
Mac computer with USB 2.0 port
Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later
iTunes 10.1 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)
iTunes Store account
Internet access
i DO have OS 10.5.8.... i just hadn't updated my profile 😟
I have installed and been using iOS 4.2.1 for months.... no problems there.
and I have iTunes 10.2.1 (1).... so as far as i can ascertain, i SHOULD be getting the "invitation" to udpate to 4.3.x.....
on my G4, it never returns ANY dialog message after i click the "check for update" button, it just states "Your iPhone software is up to date..." on the main sync page
FWIW, my Windows PC running iTunes 10.2.1 (1) DOES return a dialog box when i click "check for update" button, but it states : "This version of the iPhone software (4.2.1) is the current version."
i am perplexed... might have to FORCE something... DFU, etc.???
