ATV2.2 Updated Now No Audio

I updated last night and now I have no audio. I have the movement clicks of the remote but the audio to content of Netflix, Youtube and movie previews have no audio. On occasion there is a very brief burp of audio, but nothing that lasts more than a half second.

I have adjusted the Dolby audio setting to each setting and tried again to no avail. I have unplugged and plugged in the Apple TV2 hoping that it would reset the glitch with no result. HELP!

Since updating my ATV2 to the latest firmware. I no longer have any audio playing with my Dvd fab videos. Worked fine until the update. Not only do they no longer play on my ATV2 but they no longer stream from my mac or pc to my iphone 4 or ipad 1 and if loaded directly on to these devices there is still no audio, both on 4.3. On all devices there are problems skipping back and forward. Same files on my PC or MAC work fine played through itunes. All devices worked fine until 4.3

** Update **

Apple Engineers contacted me and I gave them some info on my setup. THANK YOU APPLE User uploaded file

After digging around some more I narrowed it down to those videos that are encoded at 320 KBps audio won't play. I have some mp4 files at 256 KBps and 440 KBps and I can hear audio, only those at 320 KBps don't have any audio.

I hope this helps others.

The problem that you have is the new update that comes to broke everything, I have the same exact problem after last update (March 11) and I try everything, change, HDMI settings, change cables, restore and restart and nothing. Then I have beeen investigate in the web and EUREKA I have found the solution and this is downgrade de Firmware 4.1.1 of Apple TV.

Steps to solve:

1) - Download the original firmware 4.1.1 of apple from http://www.ipadforos.com/foro-apple/firmwares-apple-t9861.html

2) - Then restore with Itunes, open Itunes and connect your Apple TV and press (if your are MAC USER "alt" + Restore, if you are a PC User press "Shift + Restore" and then select the firmware that you download.

This help me and solutions all my audio problems, if my tips help you, let me know

3) - You need a Micro USB Cable to connect the Apple TV 2G to the PC or MAC.

My shiny new Apple TV arrived a few days ago and I loved it straight away - my film collection streamed to my TV as easy as 1-2-3, a good choice of films to rent, a beautifully slick interface. Then I upgraded to the latest firmware and like everybody else here, I now have no sound on any of the films in my collection, either on Apple TV or on my iPad.

Not happy, not happy at all. It goes back to the Apple store tomorrow.....

I too have had this problem, after the last update I got no sound from some files, I have tried all sorts on the ATV 2 to no avail. I've seen other comments about 5.1 and dolby etc. so today i coded a movie in stereo rather than multi channel, this has played with sound intact.

I would say as long as you haven't got this problem with a lot films/tv shows use stereo for now.

also it seems some people are going down the route of going back to an earlier update.
