Dead spot on space bar

I am wondering if any one else has noticed a dead spot on the bottom right corner of the space bar on the macbook air. I can fully depress the space bar repeatedly where my thumb likes to hover over it, and the cursor does not move. Admittedly it is a very small dead spot, but since I write all day long, it is becoming increasingly annoying. Is this just something I am going to have to live with?

Macbook Air, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

Yes, I have the exact same problem, only on the right side and only intermittently. I'd say it happens every five or seven times I use the space bar. But it is very disconcerting.

I too have this problem. it is easily reproducible - just hold down the far right of the spacebar. My macbook air 13" is brand new - should i return it or does every affect every unit?

same problem, spacebar only works 50% of the time.
very fustrating for a brand new computer.
apple care says it is not a "known problem". actually they deny ever hearing about it.

Same here as well - it's easy to reproduce if you type in a specific spot - lower, 1" to the right or left.

Genius bar is going to replace the keyboard under warranty (supposedly a one-day turnaround), I'll report if it actually fixes the issue.

Sadly, my new MacBook AIr i5 13 inch 256 SSD has this problem, A Dead zone on the space bar at the lower right of the space bar. VeryAnnoying!

Pleased to say Apple repair agent has taken away MacBook for a new keyboard as part of warranty.

I am having this same issue. Did the replacement keyboard fix it? It's making the machine almost unusable. Down from 80+wpm to about 25....

I am experiencing the same issue on a late 2011 Macbook Air 13".

It is quite an issue in fact, because the bottom right spot is where I naturally position my thumb while typing.

I would say take it in, and be prepared to demo the issue.

I believe the repair will make things better, though not completely solved.

I had the same problem and exchanged it and the new one doesn't seem to have the problem. The keyboard feels completely different, too. I'm hoping it doesn't happen again.
