Interesting. The 1008 and 5002 both tend to be associated with billing information issues. The (-50) is a timeout message. So if you're set to go to the Store when you launch itunes, the trouble manifesting as the 1008 and 5002 might be causing the 50 on launch.

If you apply the measures for the 1008 and 5002 in the following document, does that also help with the 50?

Hi,

I've got the same problem and I found the solution!

just go to the Finder and select Go To Folder…

Enter /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration and hit Enter

Delete NetworkInterfaces.plist (enter your password)

Reboot

If you have no access to internet yet, just go to your System Preferences and choose Network. Then use the + button to add a new Network interface and click Apply.

That's all.

Dear Effervescence,

Thank you so much! I have been having this problem for over a year and had given up on it till this week. I eventually found your fix last night... amazing!

Despite lengthy phone and email conversations with support I had been unable to get anywhere with the error and gave up! We use four Macs at home and this iMac was the only one unable to fully interact with iTunes and the strore... until now!

Thanks to your fix I can now get my Mac to talk to my Apple TV... Happiness restored!
