Okay, it's 5:53 pm EST - where are the impressions???

I'm surprised I haven't yet read user reports regarding their new iPads. Surely someone must have one by now and can at least report on some of the basics like is the weight difference wrt iPad 1 noticeable? Same thing with the thickness? Speed - any obvious observations besides Safari (4.3 on iPad 1 is noticeably faster?

What are the lines like? Plenty of choices in stock?.....

Waited just 2.5 hours at the Best Buy near my house. Best 2.5 hours I have spent in a long, long time. Love the new one...got a White one and it is beautiful! Snappy, light, the cover that shuts it down and wakes it up is a great feature too.

Set up tethering and the Personal Hot spot on my iPhone and that works great too. The plan overwrites the other one ($35 - unlimited) and allows tethering to 5 devices, 4G for $45. I was paying $25 for the iPad alone, plus the $35 for the iPhone...so this saved me $10 bucks. Works great too...

To me, the weight difference of the iPad 2 (compared to original iPad) is just barely noticeable. What is very noticeable, however, is the difference in thickness and in how it feels in your hands. It's just much less cumbersome to hold and feels better.

My other big thought is that something is different with the display...either it's less bright, not as vivid, or it's less reflective....or I'm imagining it. It's hard to tell and even hard to compare.

ok.. my experience.. called all morning to every walmart in a 50 mile radius to see if any were getting the ipad.. some were telling me they had shipments on the way.. some said they wouldn't have any for sale.. drove 1hr away to a bestbuy in Asheville, NC.. when we got there it was 1:30pm in the afternoon.. nobody in line.. drove to get some lunch.. came back 10mins later.. 2 guys in line.. so i got my chairs and my wife and I got in line.. more and more people showed up.. finally i think the last count i made was 49 people in line.. 3 hours later in the cold and wind lol.. they came out and gave everyone tickets.. i got a black 16GB wifi and my wife got a white one..

ok.. now for my thoughts so far.. this is my first iPad so i was not familiar with the setup or use.. startup was easy.. feels light in my hand.. seems fast.. synced with itunes with no problems.. moved some pdfs over into iBooks and they worked fine.. Moved some music too.. did 'home sync' on my itunes so i can stream content wirelessly to my ipad.. that works fine.. downloaded Garageband and iMovie.. Garageband is cool.. I can see it will take up a lot of my free time just learning and playing with all the instruments.. i really want to get familiar with it enough so i can make my own background music for some of my youtube videos.. i took some video today using the 720p camera.. then i edited it with iMovie on the iPad.. uploaded to youtube with no problems.. it is below if you want to check it out..

i do have a few complaints.. i dont really like how the camera kit feels when you insert it into the ipad 2.. with the curved surface it doesnt look like its in all the way and its kinda weird.. another thing while talking about the camera kit.. i imported some pictures and video with no problem.. however.. iMovie does not show i imported any videos.. i even synced them with itunes.. still cant edit them.. went ahead and imported them onto my pc.. using video converter changed them over to a .mp4 apple codec and synced them to my ipad 2.. they show up in 'videos' and i can play them.. however i STILL cannot edit them with iMovie.. very disappointing..

I also had the ipad seem to lock up in garageband once.. had to goto home screen and back into it..

so far i like the iPad.. i am learning alot.. if someone knows how to get past the iMovie not importing videos from my camera where i can edit them.. let me know..
