I'm no Apple fanboy (as I've had my share of gripes about both Apple hardware and software over the years) but I just can't get excited about this so-called defect. ..This is a $500 multi-functional device, it is not a $20,000 surgical instrument. ..The light leakage, though apparent when you look for it, does not diminish my enjoyment one iota. And I have a hard time understanding how it would for anyone else. Personally, I'm okay with Apple back-burnering this issue. ..It's simply not that big a deal.
Well, realistically speaking it will cost more than $500. Not to mention, that is with lowest storage capacity. A 64GB with just Wifi costs $700 alone. Throw in the accelesories and stuff and you are easily at over $800. A lot of people end up spending nearly $1000 for an iPad product.
You look at the front side of the iPad. What do you see mostly??.. It's the SCREEN. It's meant to provide VIDEO. And it's supposed to display video without problems. Light bleeding is a problem. You don't have to look for it to find one. Soon or later the user will notice white light blooming on parts of the screen when the video is displaying dark scenes. Anyone will notice it and wonder what that is. It will be bothersome.
To me, iPad 2 64GB isn't worth $700. I don't mind paying $70 for one.
Like I said earlier, LCD is an inferior tech.
Or are these tablet device meant to be used to view videos with bright scenes??.. like outdoor with sunlight? Here are the following tips to "hide" the problem:
- ONLY view videos with bright scenes, no nights scenes, no scenes with shadows, no black bars.. ha ha
- Take the iPad outside in the bright sun light and watch videos.
- For indoor use, sit right between the lamps turned on.
That would be so ridiculous.
