iPad 2 iMovie

Is there a way to get the video shot on an iPhone 4 to the camera roll on the iPad 2 to use in iMovie, besides the camera connection kit? Syncing through iTunes through Photos only brings pics, not video, and syncing through iTunes through Video brings them to the iPad, but they do not show up in iMovie. Thanks!

i am having a similar problem.. the videos from my camera show up in 'Photos' and i can play them there however when i goto iMovie.. it only shows my photos not videos 😟 i read somewhere that the video codecs must match what imovie is compatible with but i cannot for the life of me believe that my camera which is 3 years old can do video in a .mov container and imovie on an apple ipad 2 cannot see it? are we missing something or do i have to cnvert them on my pc before hand?

I wish I'd have figured this out all of 10 minutes sooner, ****..

You have to use the camera connection kit to transfer videos from the iPhone into iMovie, else it won't work.

I'm getting a little ticked, because I want to be able to import OTHER videos and use iMovie to do it.

Maybe if I put some on my SD card I can do it that way... Hmm, time to give it a try..

I've gotten movies taken on my iPhone 4 into iMovie on the iPad with no problem. Just import them from your iPhone into iTunes on your computer. Then, set the iPad to sync those movies (under the Photos tab). Make sure "include videos" is selected. Then, once they're synced over, iMovie will recognize them.
