Copy and paste pictures from preview to ebay problem

Hi.

I am creating adverts on eBay with my macbook and when I copy and paste a picture from preview, into the body of the advert it works fine and displays fine. I then save the advert and go to view it on my mac and all displays ok.

However my problem is when I view it on anything other than a mac. The pics just show up as a small block with a strange symbol in it.

Anybody got any ideas?

It seems daft that I can create an ad on a PC and you can view pics no matter what machine you use, yet when I use a mac it's not the case. I hope it doens't mean I have to keep using my PC.

So you know, I have tried it with the picture file being a ".png" file and a ".jpg" file and it made no difference.

It sounds to me like copy & paste isn't uploading the image for you. Have you tried uploading the file directly? The option should be available to you in the listing.

Hi.

It's not on upload of pictures, it's when I try and copy and paste into the body of the advert, as in where you type your text. They are uploading/saving as when you view the advert on a mac they display. They do not display on anything else.

I've never copied & pasted an image into the text of an eBay listing. I always upload my image at the end of the listing.

If they do not display on anything else, then the image is not being uploaded. You need to use eBay's uploader for the pictures.

Sorry to disagree but this isn't right.

I copy and paste on my PC and it works just fine to view on anything so if what you're saying is right then it would surely do the same on a PC.

Aslo it IS saving the image in the body of the ad because if I view it on another mac it displays correctly.

I'm not sure what you mean by you upload the pictures at the end. I want to type a bit about the product, then have a picture, then type some more and maybe put some more pics. Like this

The only difference here is these were created on a PC.

I must add on thing though. When I'm trying to add the pictures, I have them open in "preview" and I crop them by using the instant alpha cutting tool. Then I copy and paste it. I've even tried savingit as a jpeg file and a bmp file and makes no difference.

Please let me know if you see a picture within the body of the advert, or just a little box with a symbol in. Also let me know if you are on a mac or PC. I guess mac as you're on a mac forum but i have both so others probably do,

When preparing a listing on eBay, about midway through the page, I see the heading "Bring your item to life with pictures." This is where I would upload an image and it always works. I've never even thought of copying & pasting into the text area.

I just tried to do just that--to copy an image from Preview & paste it into the text area--and it does not work. The image is not pasted.

Maybe using a different browser would help?

I'm honestly out of ideas 😟

Same problem to me. Can not copy paste in item description inside eBay listing using MAC. But whereas using Windows PC it can be done.
