21.5" and 27" box dimensions?

I'm about to purchase an iMac, but I need to know the dimensions of the boxes these two iMacs come in. (Not the boxes they'd be shipped in)

Apple chat support doesn't have that info..

Calling the local Apple store gave me apprx dimensions for one, but not both.

I've got way too much time invested in obtaining what shouldn't be such a hard question to answer.

Info please?

I think the confusion is coming from the use of the word box, when it seems case is what is meant and would have been more accurate. Anyway, there they are.

Does my post above shed any light on this? Since it's hard to understand what use this information is, if we knew why someone needs to know the dimensions of the interior box, not the shipping box, it might be clearer whether the OP means the computer case or the interior cardboard box.

Wait a minute, I'll just go and measure the interior box my 21.5 came in. (Late 2009, if that makes any difference.)

25" X 21"X 9"

I suppose, just call any Apple Store and ask them to go measure the 27"

No, that's a carton! 😉 Now that that's finished, can we talk about zapping the PRAM or something less technical?

And in your way of thinking, what is a case?

(This discussion is beginning to enter the uncharted waters of dangerous, highly sophisticated linguistic analysis.) 🙂

But, really, you do not need to know why he wants the dimensions. You just need to supply the information that he requests if possible.

Yes, of course, but it would have been helpful in knowing just what he meant by the "box" and that he wasn't employing the term to mean the case. I was thrown off when he said "not the boxes they'd be shipped in." Since the interior box is a kind of shipping box, one way of reading that is to understand that he does not mean the white box with the logo on it. Anyway, this is veering on becoming very silly.
