I ordered a black iPad 2 64 GB 3G AT&T at 1:53 AM Pacific, 4:53 AM Eastern on March 11. Status changed tonight to "Prepared for Shipment".

I ordered white 16gb 3G at&t on Friday at 4:08 am est, my order is still saying "not yet shipped".

I called on Friday after ordering to complain because I felt like their fast free shipping claim was bogus and to make up for it, they gave me a free smart cover, which arrived today sans iPad 2...

Today I called back and they explained to me that friday was day one of the 3-5 day shipping quote which makes Thursday day five. I was also informed that my iPad will be shipping from a plant in Cali. Crazy to think my iPad has been sitting in Cali all this time! I'm hoping for an updated shipping status soon!!

Mar 16th afternoon, status changes From 'Not Yet shipped' to 'Preparing to ship'.
Around Midnight get a tracking number, FedEx says will ship mar 17th, delivery by mar22 4pm. Service type International Economy Distribution, so I guess its coming from China.

Don't lose hope. "If you order it, they will come."

Received my black 32GB wifi yesterday, 1 day earlier than Fed-Ex stated. Had to rush home because I didn't post the signature paper on my door.

Mine just shipped yesterday; this morning it's in HK and due for delivery on the 22nd. You seem to be about 2 days behind me.

it changed to prepared to ship sometime between 11p and 4a pst I live in Arkansas so my time zone is cst

when did you order oldmaninfl? i am also in florida and ordered the same model/color and mine still says its in HK, with expected delivery on 3/18. i ordered at 1:12/4:12 on 3/11.
i keep hearing about people getting it early so i dont know whether or not to go ahead and post the signature release on my front door since im away all day. the last thing i want to deal with is going across town to the fedex hub to pick it up.

Mine was moved to 'Prepared for Shipment' on Monday morning. It is now about 72 hours later and still has not shipped. Has anyone else had a similar hold in the Prepared for Shipment status?

benetton - for what it's worth, I also ordered my 16GB ATT 3G on Friday at 12:59 PDT, and it too has been 'Prepared for Shipment' since Monday morning.

Got my tracking number this morning for my ipad. Estimated time of arrival is Tuesday. It's coming from China.

On a side note, my tracking says my cover is still in Hong Kong, estimated time of arrival Tuesday - that was shipped on Monday....

I just thought i was the only one with it stuck in "prepared for shipment"
be that way for 4 days now.

Has anyone's shipment went from LANTAU ISLAND HK to SENNAN-SHI JP? Mine was in LANTAU ISLAND HK for about 35 hours. I'm glad that it finally moved, but SENNAN-SHI JP is one of the places in Japan that the FedEx is warning about in their Japan Earthquake Service Update. Why would they send it there?
