iPad 2 Shipping

Has anyone that has had their iPad already ship seen it move from Lantau Island, HK? Nothing has changed as far as the ship date or the delivery date, it just has not moved in a day or so.

Mine finally shipped last night and is scheduled for Tuesday delivery. Only problem is I called and paid extra for next day shipping-which I apparently am not getting as the shipping speed is Internation Economy distribution which seems to be what everyone has. Not too happy with Apple seeing as they charged me extra for faster shipping then didn't even attempt to ship it that speed.

My IPAD has been stuck on Lantau Island since Mar. 15. Today is March 17. No movement. I ordered mine at 1:20 am on March 11. I ordered another for my son in Hawaii at 1:10 am on the same day and he got his YESTERDAY after it went to Memphis, Oakland and then to Honolulu. His was slated to arrive on the 17th, but arrived a day early. Mine is slated to arrive on the 22nd (don't know why 5 days later, but perhaps because it was ordered 10 minutes later online = high volume of ordering going on). I am not going to panic yet. I see many others here in the same "stuck" mode on Lantau Is, HK. Today I will be stopping by the local FedEx office to inquire and see what they can tell me. Otherwise, the 22nd is what I am hoping for - at least FedEx tracking still says it's on schedule and in transit! Anybody who is being shipped to right now is lucky! There are NO more IPAD2's to be had at the moment. Lucky us!

There appears to be a problem at the LANTAU ISLAND HK FedEx facility. According to the FedEX site, mine has been sitting there for over 24 hours. I suspect it has left the facility and the departure has not been documented.

This has happened to me a number of times with stuff being shipped from Asia. It just shows up at the door unannounced.

However, I am not complaining. I have trouble keeping tract of my car in the parking lot. I can’t imagine keeping track of millions of packages everyday.

My iPad (black, AT&T, 16GB, 3G, engraved) has been sitting at Lantau Island HK for about 36 hours now. I called FedEx and was told that they scan them when they arrive, but not always when they leave, so the next tracking I may see is when it clears customs in the US--but she doesn't know when that will be. My tracking still shows delivery by tomorrow- 3/18- by 4:30 pm.

I'm not sure I buy that other than the fact that a couple of people posted that they received their iPads in the last day or two--early-- with the tracking still showing it in Alaska. I hope so!

I'm pretty sure they're going from Hong Kong to Alaska, and they don't register in the system again until after they reach Alaska. Could be the reason for the long delays there. Alaska seems to be where they're doing customs, so fret not! 🙂

Having said that, mine changed to "Prepared for Shipment" this morning. I hope it doesn't take forever to get a tracking number and get that sucker on its way.

Has anyone's shipment went from LANTAU ISLAND HK to SENNAN-SHI JP? Mine was in LANTAU ISLAND HK for about 35 hours. I'm glad that it finally moved, but SENNAN-SHI JP is one of the places in Japan that the FedEx is warning about in their Japan Earthquake Service Update. Why would they send it there?

not sure why they would do that unless either weather forced them to land there temporarily OR perhaps since Japan's release for iPad2 on the 25th has been scrubbed, they are releasing the ones that were on hold for Japan and that is where they are staged..just conjecture...
weather has been tough in that region so that might add to the reason things have slowed down.
Anyone else seeing this diversion?

I ordered mine at 340am eastern time zone (140 apple time) on the 11th. It has been at Lantau Island Hk for over 40 hours and finally went to Sennah-Shi Jp. I do not understand why it would move there since that area is in such devastation as it is. All of my other adapters finally got to Michigan 2 days ago. My smart cover was stuck at Lantau Island with the ipad2 but went to Alaska instead and is currently in Indianapolis. I hope I see my iPad2 within the next 2 weeks!
