Has anyone that has had their iPad already ship seen it move from Lantau Island, HK? Nothing has changed as far as the ship date or the delivery date, it just has not moved in a day or so.

Same was happened with me, I ordered an iPad & then I was asked if I want a smart cover I checked the black leather one & the engraving.

Finally I placed my order & 2 days after I received a donotreply mail said that my iPad order is cancelled despite that the smart cover was already shipped.

My question is what am I supposed to do with the smart cover without the iPad? They should have cancelled both.

Please anyone advise.

Anyone have an iPad that cleared FedEx international shipping in Anchorage, yesterday?

Yahoo FedEx updates says my iPad left Alaska at 2:58pm today and FlightAware has a Fedex plane leaving Anchorage for Memphis at that time exactly. If your iPad has similar tracking information, looks like it will be in Memphis by 1:00am and then hopefully delivered to your home by Thursday or Friday if you live in the Eastern US.

I ordered my iPad 2 on May 8 and it apparantly shipped this past Sat (May 21). It traveled via UPS from the factory to Chengdu, China then through the Hong Kong Airport to Anchorage. From there it went to Louisville then into Canada at Mount Hope, Ont and then all the way to the east coast to Fredericton, NB.

The route makes no sense to me, I'm in Calgary, Canada - back out west - and they could have easily routed it from Anchorage to Vancouver to the sort facilty here. I was told that UPS insists on their Fredericton customs broker doing the deed for Canadian bound shipments which HAS to be adding expense to the process. I know UPS knows way more about this than I do so Im being patient. I go back on the road Friday so Im hopeing it arrives between now and then. It's Tuesday today!!

Mine is on a truck for delivery!!! Shipped from China on Monday and it arrived at LAX 6 am this morning and then arrived at our sort site 4 miles away from me at 8:20 this morning. They hadn't adjust delivery date from estimated Friday date though. I figured it missed today's trucks so I called to ask if I could go pick it up and they said no it would most likely end up on tomorrow's trucks.

Not 2 minutes after I hung up with them, I tracked it again and the yahoo tracker says it's out for delivery and the fedex site says it's still at the sort facility.

Now I have cancelled all the errands I was going to run and will wait by the door. Hopefully he won't come when I have to get the kids from school.

Rick,

Note that the package didn't go to NB. This has to do with the fact that the Shipping broker is located in NB, and all activity that goes on there (Cleared customs, received documents, etc.) is shown in your tracking with the location of the actual office.

Basically, they have cleared your package for entry in Canada from the NB office, but the package is still in transit from where ever it was.

This is why most of you see 'Cleared customs' in a destination totally unrelated to the route your package will take.

Woot! I finally got my iPad and loaded all my apps and movies and got a sweet case (switcheasy canvas). It's awesome. After everything was said and done:

- my iPad was exactly on time

- I've once again learned to take tracking info with a grain of salt, especially with UPS

- if you do have problems, contact Apple and not the shipping carrier. Think of it this way: Apple is UPS/FedEx's customer. Apple chooses the shipping carrier(s) to ship their goods. It's their job to make Apple happy, not us. So if you do have a problem, the shipping carrier is much more likely to respond to a complaint from their customer rather than us. Plus, Apple has been responding to shipping problems by giving out free accessories so it can't hurt to contact them first.

And I'd like to thank the people that shared the flightaware.com site. It's a great resource that I'll continue to use.

I ordered my iPad on May 8. It finally shipped on the 21st from China to Memphis Tennessee. After Tennessee, it disappeared. Apple called my house to tell me that the whole truck was COMPLETELY LOST and that they're pulling shipments of iPads and they won't be sending mine out until June 10th now. I'm disappointed but Apple has been great with customer service and understanding as always. So I'll wait patiently for my iPad on June 15th. Did this happen to anyone else?
