iPad 2 Shipping

I can't say whether or not delivery dates are adjusted aftter hitting Alaska (that may be dependent on the final destination and not Alaska), but I doubt there are any legitimate delay concerns in Sennan-shi. Honestly I was concerned about that, having ordered mine hours before/after the tsunami (can't remember exactly when the tsunami was in my time zone), but I now that shipments are having reached Alaska, I think it's safe to say that's not the case.

I suspect your shipment will be in Alaska no later than Monday, and once there should make the delivery in time. I wouldn't be concerned about any delays until Monday if it seems there's no further movement.

That is what I am the most afraid of. The screen bleed. I just can't tolerate it...

I just got my release also. Looks like it should be on time!

My iPad sat in Hongkong for 3 days, so I called Fedex yesterday. (I am a corporate account at Fedex, and they are pretty good to me.) The fedex agent told me that at the Lantau, Hongkong facility the iPads are still palletized as a bulk shipment, and that they move only as space becomes available on the next flight. Mine was scheduled to be delivered on March 22 (Tuesday), and he did not see any reason why it wouldn't make the scheduled delivery. Today it moved. (The dates shown below are dates and times at the origin, to give a better idea of transit times.

So given the transit time from Hongkong to Alaska, it seems my iPad, and a lot of others, sat in HK for 3 days.

Ours must be on the same pallet! I ordered on the 11th and it has been stuck in HK until today too! Can't wait for Tuesday....HOPEFULLY it will be here then! I did call apple last night to complain about the shipping delays and they credited my account for the smart cover so I guess that was one consolation for waiting so long to get it!

I thought about calling Apple, but they have kept their commitment to shipment times, so although I suppose I could get the cover (which has already been delivered) for free, I think that is not necessary in this case. Besides, Apple Corporation is one of our customers, so I get a check every month....

How long has it been taking for your iPads to get from Anchorage to Memphis? Mine is on the same schedule as yours AlyoshaK just it has cleared customs.

I sold my Ipad Classic to a co-worker Wednesday before launch day in expectation of having the Ipad2 from Best Buy in my hands, got there at 5:30 and they were all sold out! Expected that they would have new shipment for the weekend and NOTHING! Ordered at Apple instead on the 12th since I noticed that shipping was getting longer and longer. Ordered White 32GB Verizon 3G - Engraved and my shipping date is at April 11 and expected delivery on the 18th. I have my smart cover but not so smart without an Ipad...I am really disappointed with Apple and I miss my Ipad!

Be glad you didnt make the mistake of going with verizon. I ordered Saturday the 12th by phone to their online sites phone number. Their tracking system still doesn't show anything (claiming that my order # isn't found) and when I include the location number, it says that their site has experienced an error. The person I ordered it from claims the order is in. The verizon stores were outright lying to customers that saturday claiming it was 2-3 days and even on monday they were still claiming only 2 weeks when apple said 2-3 weeks. They claimed they had their own private stash at their warehouse. The verizon customer blog has a good 75-100 or so people who have been told the same lies and are quite ticked. I dont mind waiting for something if I am told the proper times. I am a tech coord for a school district considering ipads for the senior high and its starting to look like the eee slate may get the school boards authorization. What a waste, we are an apple school with new Imacs everywhere. Now I might have to deal with integrating win 7 into the network.

I just got upgraded to "Prepared for Shipment". I was in the 5-7 day range. So expected delivery of March 22-29 looks like it's still on track!
