iTunes cannot run because some of it's required files are missing.

A lot of people have been having the same problem after upgrading their iTunes to the latest software, they have had messages saying 'iTunes cannot run because some of it's required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes.' I am not prepared to loose all of my sorted songs and videos and would urgently like Apple to immediately fix this problem. If you have had the same problem after downloading, please comment to bring awareness.

The same thing happened to me today when I tried to update. You will have to re-install itunes. You won't lose your music or anything like that. However, instead of chosing "save" chose "run." I chose "save" the first couple of times and it still wouldn't work. When I chose "run", it asked if I wanted to repair or remove. Choose "repair." Your problem will be fixed.

Fearns is a legend he has the answer - When ITunes has the message
"iTunes cannot run because some of it's required files are missing."

Very frustrating and I notice threads like this dating back to 2006 so don't hold your breath for a permanent fix

It looks like a couple of methods work but this one is easiest for sure as descirbed by Fearns - I did it ans literally 2 mins later without a restart - Itunes is working as normal

1/ Open Control Panel
2/ Open Programs
3/ Right click on ITunes and select "repair" from drop down list
Windos reconfigures ITunes for a couple of mins and then Itunes is back

I downloaded the update and got the message about missing files, which doesn't surprise me since every Apple update now causes problems with iTunes, iPods, and iPhones that I have. I am sick of this.

I repaired iTunes finally. Then I downloaded the iPhone iOS 4.3 and when it got to 670 MB it said that iTunes timed out, or something like that.

Apple software is garbage. Period. It's amazing to me that Koolaid drinkers can actually add up so significantly to make a company one of the largest in the world that produces garbage. I'm really concerned for humanity knowing what I know about people now. This is really scary.
