How to pay Month to Month with the Verizon iPad 2??

Hi,

I used to have an AT&T iPad 1 and would only enable the data plan when I need it. In order to avoid the plan being renewed automatically I would just cancel it after activating it, and continue using it till the end of the month or till I ran out of data. I just tried the same with my new Verizon iPad 2 and it actually canceled the plan entirely and cut off from the internet. I even received an email saying that any remaining data would be lost.

I spoke to the VZ Mobile Data Support group for over 1 hr, and they were unable to reactivate my account but gave me the $20 back. However they were unable to satisfactory answer my question about automatic renewal. If you look on the *Cellular Data Account* setup screen, it says *Recurring Domestic Plan Options*.

My question is how can I avoid the plan to automatically renew?

This is not true today - at least not for aVerizon iPad 2 with iOS 6.1.3. I'm having a similar problem, and I just posted it. An infrequent forum visitor, I apologize for not seeing related posts beforehand.

My Verizon iPad2 USED TO have the ability to retain payment data for easy reactivation later, but it no longer does. I USED TO get a message when canceling (after a month or two) that my account would be deleted after 5 months of inactivity. I was told tonight by a Verizon rep that the only way to stop their monthly $20 charge would be for me to delete my account (which after finding no other option, I did).
