My iPad appears to be connected to Verizon 3G with full bars, but when I try to open a page in Safari, the little circle spins around for a while and then a get a message that I'm not connected to the internet. Tried rebooting several times in various configurations of cell data on/off, but no resolution.

Is anyone else seeing this -- from what I've seen so far, rebooting with cell data on seems to fix the problem, so I'm thinking I may have a different problem. I've had the thing for three weeks now and this is the first time I'm seeing this.

I am having the same issue. I had a defect in the plastic cover. When I went to exchange it, the genius wanted to turn it on and make sure it was working properly. He could not get the Verizon wireless to turn on. I had to show him how I have had to turn it on through the software and re-boot the iPad to actually enable the Verizon wireless.

I have had similiar situations where my iPhone works better after a re-boot.

I sure hope so. My IPAD2 Verizon is in Hong Kong yet. They shipped before I could cancel. SO now I"m stuck with whatever arrives before they fix it right.

The patch notes I read at the link the fellow posted above did not indicate
to me they addressed the specific issue with Verizon IPADS.

I saw some blurb about addressing some non specific issues international 3g users
might be having but not the ones listed in this thread.

Sure hope some post with results soon so I can stop fussing about my yet to arrive Versizon IPAD2.

Yup. Seems like 4.3.2 fixed it for me. I can switch Verizon 3G on and off at will now without a reboot.

    Thanks All!!

I've had my V3G iPad 2 since release. I've seen this issue only once, and haven't been able to duplicate it. However, I'm extremely satisfied with Verizon. Thus far, my connectivity has been snappy anytime I've had to connect via 3G.

Thanks all to this informative thread. The bug is now fixed by the latest iOS. No more hassle toggling 3G data on Verizon iPad 2.

FWIW, I received my iPad 64GB WiFi 3G Verizon from China a day earlier than scheduled (04/13/11) and haven't experienced this issue so far. I can turn 3G on/off at will and can always reconnect without a reboot.

For now I will be holding off on the 4.3.2 update until I start to have problems, my iPad came with 4.3.1

Great to see this update, I will be updating my VZW iPad2 to 4.3.2 tonight. Hoping it also fixes the roaming indicator issue.

To answer the question from the user above; my location is Raleigh, NC but I see the same issue in Orlando, Dallas, Detroit, Atlanta, etc. So I know the device isn't actually roaming, it just thinks that it is. Other iPad2 users and Verizon phone users are in the same location and their devices indicate 'Verizon'.

The "fix" was done half assed if you ask me. I do not need to re-boot it to turn cellular data on....But I do have to reboot it to turn it off!

Nice update A Holes, now my soft keyboard is broken.  It won't show up when selecting a text entry field in multiple apps, native apps too.  It was better when the 3G switch was broken. Truly useless now! I can't believe how this illusion of a useful computer seems more an more like that garbage Xoom I had. Now when I see someone with an iPad 2 I'll know how big an idiot they are; something half the population already claims to know.

Having same problems as everyone else.  I have a 64gb Ipad 2 with Verizon 3G.  Ipad will at some point act as if it is not even a 3g ipad showing the ipad sign in the top left corner.  Tried turning Cellular Data on and off and nothing happened.  Turned Airplane mode on and off, then ipad started searching for network with no luck.  I powered ipad off then on, 3g service was then found.  This is fine for now, but I just spent over $700 for this ipad and $35 monthly fee for 3g.  These are hefty fees for problems like this.  Please fix ASAP.
