iphone will not connect to home wifi, always worked before

Since the day I got my iphone home and entered our 26 character password my wifi has worked perfectly.

I got home the other day and all of the sudden wifi would not connect. As soon as I pulled in the driveway it asked for the password for my wifi network instead of automatically connecting. I got in the house, entered the password and it says can not connect to wifi, then it says password incorrect.

I have tried resetting the phone, forgetting my wifi network, resetting my router and nothing works. I've entered this password probably 50 times now and to no avail....

ipad and laptop work just fine on the same password.

Can someone please help?!

I've got an iPhone 4s that we use as a baby monitor and it stopped connecting on our home network. I reset it, but that didn't work. What worked was turning off Cellular Data. Now it works perfectly.

I just had the same problem with my iPhone 4s for the first time ever in my house. Mine started not to connect when I reset my home modem. I did a web search and it told me to go to my network settings on my phone and reset it. I did that and then it worked!!

Go to Reset networkUser uploaded file settings. Touch Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings.

My friend who has a iPhone 5 have the same issues when she comes over. Next time when she comes over I will tell her to reset her network settings on her phone. I'm sure it will work because mine did and I've never had connection problems in the past. I hope that helps!

Nearly 5 years on and this post worked perfectly for me.

My main Broadband started playing up and my MacBook would not connect to the WiFi and the same for the iPhone, it just kept asking for my password over and over and then pushing me out of my choice of WiFi connection and joining another service and the Mac I connected to the main line Broadband (Wired Connection) and that worked. WiFi came back shortly after on the Mac but the iPhone was throwing a Tantrum.

I tried calling and working online trying to resolve the issue but (BT) Service Provider is so easy and helpful and fantastic and swift (Yeah Right !) So I decided to check the Apple Forum and here we Are.

I found this post and done exactly as "Allan Sampson" said and PERFECTION !

Thanks Allan - 5 years on from this post and you are still resolving this issue, well done !

After 24 hours of messing with my internet connection, after getting a new modem. It is so awesome to find the answer to my problem on the first post I google searched. And since I spent the last 24 hours educating myself on all things IP Address and MAC, I knew exactly how to go to my router's admin site. I have a Westell router that used to be used with a Verizon account. It know connects to a Motorola modem provided to me by Charter. The router's link is 192.168.1.1 When you type this number in the address bar, it will take you to Verizon's wireless broadband Router Management Console. If you don't know the admin user and password, you might try USERID: admin and PASSWORD: password or password1. If this doesn't work you'll have to find a paperclip and insert it into the tiny "reset" hole on the back of your router. You should hear it click. Hold it for at least 10 seconds. I don't think it matters if the router is on when you reset, you may have to try it both ways. This reset the router to factory settings and now you can use the above ID and PW. Across the top of the screen click "Wireless". From the menu that appears on the left, click "Advanced Security Settings." Scroll down to level three and click on "Wireless MAC Authentication." The drop down menu should say "Disable," if not change it. Click apply. You'll have to turn off your router for 10 seconds to a minute. Now you should have internet access again on your computer. And now that my phone is recharged I'm going to try to connect to wife on my iphone. and see if this fix actually worked. If so Voila!!
